Engine Light after starting

This morning I started my bike for some buddies at work, I drove it for a good 20min prior and let it sit off for about 20 minutes before I started it for them, so it should have still been warm. When I started it the engine light came on while it was running, so I turned it off. Then, I started it again and the engine light did not come on...should I have reason for concern?

No. I have seen this happen on dozens of Buells, as well as other brands. The ECU momentarily misses an input signal and triggers the MIL. You did the right thing; turn it off, wait a few seconds, and go again. If it is recurring, check for DTCs.
