I have always liked the look of the 1125cr over the r model. Just couldnt afford it right away. I already had a 2007 Ninja 500 and had just recently purchased a used 2000 VFR. Then when I heard that Buell was going out and saw that photo of the cr for 4999, I had to jump on it.
I traded in my Ninja and got a 09 1125cr here in San Antonio. All three bikes are so obviously different. Each one has there sound and character. The Ninja is a daily easy commuter that is great for learning on. The VFR has that cam whine and v4 exhuast that you can listen for hours on end. Yet the cr is such an animal, it just wants to rev and move and not put-put around.
She only has 22 miles on her and I havent had a chance to ride as there will be rain for the next couple of days but this weekend will look nice though.
I am glad I found this forum!!
where'd you find it for $5k? I feel kind of ripped off paying $7k for my R even it is substantially less than new. Oh well, at least I got my 600 mile service for free

I went to the dealer here in Honolulu with $9000 cash in my pocket to get another bike and was shocked they are not letting Buells go cheap. The guy looked at me when I asked if there were any deals because of the recent decision by Harley to drop the line and he kind of wondered off!!!!OUCH

Buells in Japan are still selling for full MSRP. No discounts here...

I live in San Antonio, Texas. There are like 4 HD dealers in a 40mile radius. Two in SA alone. Not to mention there are about three in Houston about 2 hours away. Alamo HD only had 1 1125r, 1 1125cr 1 xb12 and a used xb9. Yeah that 4999 was supposedly from San Francisco. I got mine for 6500 OTD before my trade in of the Ninja 500.
Salesman said there were like 5 cr's left in Texas. Hell when I went to go look at them, one guy was loading up a cr and an r!

Here in Canada there are no deals either. No price change in a month. The local dealer was showing a 1500.00 discount in August and that has not changed. Still over 13000.00 here for a CR.

The stealership here said they are getting $5000 back from HD on the 1125 's and $3500 back on the XB 's. That's why discounts. I'd expect island people to hold out. :D
I wish I would have did some research before I bought mine. I thought cowboy Alamo Harley was the only game in town near me. Oh well, I still got a pretty good deal

Cool, I recently joined a couple of bike groups that ride in the city and the hill country. Look for san antonio sport bike riders on meetup.com. I know of a couple of other Buell riders, we can hookup and go out, especially bike nights at Mulligan's.

i grew up in san anto and am also a transplant running distance from the east troy plant. it felt like murder when i read the company went down. i live at hood now and am contained to barracks once we redeploy back. i have a 1125cr on order with encs, had a ten on order but the bike won't be built, so they transfered me to an 09 with a significant discount. 8k, which isn't as great as the 5k or 6.5k i have been fishing round tejas, but it locks atleast one good deal for me, seeing that i was willing to pay 13k.
i was also emailing larry rochelle at cowboy harley in austin, but all the buells are now sold. he did mention a "resource" and told me to contact him when i get back. so if anybody is interested . . .
i can't even meet with a encs client to sign a damn contract. i have never wished i was a fobbit as much as i do now. blah.

the big thing to me is i have one,,dont really care what the price is,, because once their gone thier gone. its a great bike, and they never should have been sold in harley dealers ...so this awsome bike will go down as an icon....:D
Phazernut, I bought one in December from Barrie HD/Buell (Canada)and they gave me the full rebate from Buell. MSRP $12,919 for a 2010 XB12Scg paid less than $9K for it. I don't know how many they have left, but I'm assuming not many, so don't wait long! Talk to Cory or Tanner - tell them I sent you! All you guys talking about "stealerships" are going to miss out on some SMOKEIN deals. They'll be all gone by the time you figure out you can't get a comparable bike within $3000 ANYWHERE!

Got my Lightning in November OTD for $5,800. The stealership here couldn't wait to get rid of the Buells.

McHenry Harley still has 1125Crs available, or at least they did 2 weeks ago. I got mine for 5995.00 if anybody is in the market. They were great to deal with as well. I wish the dealer in my area was as good.
