I recently purchased a 29 tooth tranny pulley. Keeps the revs down. Just need a new belt and I'm good to go. A 130 tooth ought to do.

Before I forget. Is the buell belt anything like "special"? Had a guy at an aftermarket supply tell me this and that I was sol. I think he's wrongo dude. Lot higher hp's out there running belts with no probs. 130 tooth 14 mm pitch and 1 1/8" wide. Can anyone suggest a good sturdy replacement?

I don't know anything for sure and this is just a guess. I would actually think that it is somewhat special. Unlike many coged belts used in industrial situations this belt has to endure some pretty specific situations. Things like sunlight, rain, heat, cold, etc. Plus unlike most industrial apps we accel and decel constantly on bikes. Industrial stuff usually accels and stays there for most of the time.
Now that's not to say what your proposing won't work. But I'd be prepared for a possible break while your out riding, i.e. carry a spare and any tools needed for a road side repair. If it breaks fix it, get to where you need to go and then decide what to do for a long term solution. If it doesn't ever break, well, then you know that guy was wrong.

To the best of my knowledge there are no other rear pullies for these bikes. In order to change ratios all you can do is swap the primary sprocket and chain. You can put the 9 primary into the 12 and get more low end grunt at the cost of top speed or put the 12 into a 9 for more top speed at the cost of bottem end power. Either mod requires no changes in the drive belt or pullies.
buelltool, the belt for the Ss and TT is longer but I don't know by how many teeth.
