There are a couple of real good places in San Antonio. Keith Hertell at Road and Track for suspension but he can do anything you need. He just rebuilt my suspension on my 1125CR and replaced the stator with a rebuild from Rick's in California. Also CycleRider in the same area is a pretty good mechanic's shop and sell some decent used bikes.

Hey, netty2424. Things had been running well for a while, and then my fan went out. I haven't ridden in about 3-4 months because I don't want to take a chance on frying the back cylinder. I've been really missing it, especially with the weather we've been having.

I need the fan, but the cause is the oil seeping from the rear rocker. The oil gets to the fan and shorts the motor out. So, I need to get a fan and rear rocker seal. Also planning on doing plugs and wires and all the fluids since I'm almost at 10,000.

Dang, you're way south! You're right on the border. Have a state trooper that lives close to me and those guys are all having to take shifts down on the border as they beef up patrols for the cartel **** that goes on. Dangerous down there. Some of the stories he tells me are truly straight out of the movies!

Funny you say that. I grew up in the 'big city' so they call it, and despite what most think about Texas, it's not all cowboys and ranches. Well I dated a girl who was from east Texas out in the country and who's father was a cattleman, had a ranch, a sale barn, the whole nine. When I went to visit for the first time, I guess I had a slight look on my face from the smell. I dont care who you are, ehen you smell it for the first time, it effing stinks.........because it's ****! Pure and simple!

He looks at me, kind of smirks and without even verbally confirming why I had the look on my face, he said, "that's the smell of money!"

Now I do live out in the country, relative to Dallas and there are nothing but cattle in the fields behind my house! Can't even smell it anymore!

Being from Dallas they always asked about and for pictures of our ranch,Cadillac and cowboy stuff in general. We bessss get ready for the bugs this year. Without a winter this year, they're going to be bad. I was absolutely covered after riding today. My helmet was so bad a was having issues seeing clearly by the time I got home.

The only way it'll stop is if our military truly gets involved, and I'm not talking about sending in small groups for training purposes only. But I don't believe that will happen on a scale large enough to make a difference.

I actually work at the Hidalgo port of entry with CBP/ FPS as a PSO and always hear the shoot-outs and explosions happening all the time. I haven't been over to MX since 1997 and no way am I going now... Oh yeah, a few of the agents see the 'buell' I take to work and now they want one... I end up referring them to craigslist, ebay motors, etc... Hopefully get some more buells down here in South TX. woohoo!!!

I thought my bike got stolon!! Was getting gas for my bomb Sunday, around 12:30 and low and behold as I look up I see my bike drive by.

Being a less common bike and the same model 07-09 Black n' red firebolt I thought mine had just been stolon from my backyard.
As I rushed home to see, I ran into said guy leaving my neighbourhood. Wasn't my bike thankfully. But did freak me out for a min. This guy had stock muffler or a 9 and had a black primary cover. I didn't get a look at the dude but he was in a shirt and shoes....At least he had a helmet.

The main group meets weekly just south of downtown Austin but us northern guys are thinking of doing our own meets at Hardtails in G-town, two more riders would definitely make it worthwile. Hey Chris, I didn't pick up a new battery yet, figured I would do some more research on a good brand and also get a tender at the same time. My regular battery charger has been acting up, i think that its not charging it up all the way, so the battery is probably still good.

Btw, already got some new handlebar mirrors on the way :) You've given me some great ideas!

Be carful with just slappin a new battery in her. You wanna check the voltage regulators out put and make sure its charging the battry. A tender is a good idea also.

Never would have figured a Honda dealer to be welcoming Buell's, though.
If they are like the servicing dealers here, they don't care about the brand of the bike...It's just a wheel and tire to them. I've heard they will mount the tire on backwards though. Be sure to tell them the direction of rotation, if you don't drop your entire bike off with them.

***North Dallas Area Folks***

This has been on my mind for quite some time and I figure I might as well go ahead and ask. I've been wanting to gauge interest in a possible "meet and greet" or "get-together" of some kind for those of us that are in the North Dallas areas. I've met several folks from North Dallas up to the Celina/Anna area over toward Rockwall and thought it'd be nice to get a group together.

Probably just going to do a meet and greet first and then, potentially, getting a group ride put together at a later date. I'm thinking about shooting for 5/18 or 5/25. Both dates are Saturdays. Also, I'd like to keep this more family friendly.

As I said, I'm just gauging interest. Feel free to PM me if you might be interested in meeting on either of the dates that were mentioned, or if you're interested in meeting at all. Be sure to let me know where you are located, this will help with finding a more central point to meet. And, honestly, I don't mind if it's just a few people or a dozen+.

Years back we did a small BBQ in Azle, one of the guys from BadWeB hosted it, afterwards we went out on his sailboat. Pretty cool! But it was literally like 5 Buellers, haha.

Best one was when the Hooligans (original group) met up at Mototopia and rode out east. I think it was 17 Buells... Most i'd ever seen in one place. We did have 2 guys go down though. But I won't ride like that anymore, to many responsibilities now (Wife, kid, house, career, etc...)

I'm in Rowlett, but willing to travel a bit.
If we do go for a ride afterwards, I'll be the guy at the back of the pack taking it easy :-)

Austin group is called the Hellbuellies. We do still get together every week on thurs. at Doc's bar and grill on S. Congress for some grub and social chatter. The group has gotten pretty thin to everyone owning multiple bikes as well. There are a lot of duel sport riders in are group so I'm sure keeping all the projects running will cause a few bikes to get left behind for a while. Which in my case I do a lot of riding on my victory vegas. So my firebolt get's neglected every now and then. We do a few events every year. Jay does a tuber gathering. Not sure on the date he does this but I can ask him if anyone wants that info.Then there is the Harvest Classic End of October in Luckenbach, Tx. We get together during 1st or 2nd weekend of Nov. for Thrills in the Hills. Which is in Leakey, TX.

Hwy 5 out of Aledo goes around back to I-20. To get to Aledo 3325 is the road. But 3325 going North is fun to. It takes you all the way to Azle. Boat Club Road out of Lake Worth is fun. But you end up in Haslet. All the way down Hwy 287 in to Mansfield is Heritage Pkwy or [917]. It will take you all the way back to I-35 in Burleson. All those back roads between Hwy 287 and I-35 north of [917] are fun too. And then the backroads south of the 170 Corridor (Alliance Gateway) in North Fort Worth (Keller) are hilarious. Blind curves into straight aways. Blind hills into curves. lol. Lots of bs to get rid of. :p

Worth, so I'll definitely check out 3325, Boat Club, and maybe some of the roads around Lake Worth and Eagle Mountain Lake. the roads are much straighter here than what I am used to. I am used to having a mountain in my back yard, and twisty (unpopulated) roads were everywhere. I may have to start going to the racetracks around here...know of any good ones?

You can go to Motorsport Ranch in Cresson, prob 30-45 minutes from where you are at. I went out there last summer with my buddy when they had a Ducati track day.
