Those transalps are sexy bikes. Too bad I'm not in the market for one right now. I've always wanted one.

Got photos? Description of the TransAlp?

samiam, I am aware of what the '89 TransAlp looks like. Like I said, I've been eyeing them for a long time. I'm interested in HIS pictures of his bike, and HIS description of its condition.

Thanks anyway.

hey guys i'm fairly new to this forum (i'm a regular on badweb) but my names Ian.

alright guys here it goes

so to be honest its my dads bike (i've got a 9R and am only 18) but the T/A is the first bike i continuously rode (prolly around 13k miles are from me.) it has 31k on the odo. My dad bought the bike from the original owner two years ago. the original owner had kids in my boy scout troop, so we knew who it was. the original owner bought it straight out of college new, and just used it for riding around (no off-road stuff) when we got it it had been sitting for a couple years in his garage. My dad put a new chain on it, new tires, two new CDI units in it, and new front brakes. Otherwords the bike is compleately stock. Currently the front tire has plenty of tread left, but the rear is pretty smooth (i will buy a new rear tire for it before the bike moves on to a new owner) My dad and i never had this bike off-road either. last summer i was car-less and this was my only means of transportation so it was ridden almost everyday. It runs like a champ and i was actually fairly suprised at how comfortable and capable this bike was! the bike's maitenice was kept up such as oil and fluids and everything.

the original owner had dropped the bike in his garage while moving stuff around, and the right side of the plastics are a little scratched, and the bottom engine guard has a hole in it (yes a hole none of the rest of the plastic is cracked or scratched, it just has a hole in the bottom fairing) both are easy parts to replace but we've never bothered just because it didnt really effect the bike in anyway.

Like i said though my dads looking for a buell (he of course loves the ULY's but is open to lightnings and tubers as well (the only bikes he doesnt like are the firebolts and 1125's...sorry guys i wish he would buy a 1125 so i could ride it but....) He also likes other bikes like the v-stroms, ktm dukes, and other super-motos, BMW"s and other such bikes let me know what you have to trade and i'll pass the message along

here are pics to my photobucket of the bike sorry they are crappy cell phone ones!
