Where do you lock your helmet on an XB12Ss?

I'm used to having a latch some place below the seat but I don't see anything like that on this bike.

Thanks!

In your tool kit there is a double looped wire, that is supposed to be your helmet lock. Latch one end in the back of the seat and loop it through your helmet D rings. Otherwise I could show you what I had set up on my Firebolt which will work on your Lightning also. Its about a $35 investment.

I got a gun lock, (pistol type) and loop it through the front of the helmet, and fix it to either the passenger peg or handlebars.

(Check your local Police Department....alot of times they give them out for free!!!!!)

I used the lock portion off of this set up. Every Harley dealer should be able to order one of these bad boys for you. On my Firebolt, I used the bolt just in front of the stock license plate mount to mount the lock. On a Lightning I would mount it off of the bolt of the front of the cheese grater tail section. There is probably somewhere else you could mount it if you really wanted and were inventive, its just where I chose to put it since I relocated my plate up under the tail. You could just use the whole set up if you wanted, but thats not custom...lol

With this set up you wont be able to take off your helmet and ride with it locked up, but you will be able to lock it up when you park. Plus, why would you want to ride without your helmet on your head.

:D

Any questions, let me know fellas

So what exactly holds the bracket on? Those 2-4 tiny bolts? I'm not knockin ya man, but here in Detroit they'd snap that off in a second. At least with my gun lock they'll have to rip my handlebars off [up]

And on the brighter side, when someone sees the gunlock locking the helmet I bet they say " so...um...wheres the gun then?" [smirk]

Helmet locks just keep honest people honest no matter what form they are. And here in Phoenix, if they want the helmet, they take the whole damn bike to Mexico and strip it... lol
