Ignition coil problems

Hi, got an '05 12S with 5,000 miles on the clock. Last week it coughed and died. Changed ignition fuse and ran on 1 before blowing again. Trailered home. Found coil appeared to have overheated internally and split the sealing resin, allowing white insulation leak out. Waiting for a replacement. Anyone else had a coil blow so soon? Thanks

My 06 9r did the same thing today. Runs for a little bit then blows the ignition fuse. I have not looked at the coil yet.
Was the coil actually the problem? Did the new one fix it?
