Has anyone done a chain conversion for a XB12 Firebolt?

If so what is involved please? - I was told a new swingarm has to be fitted - is this correct?

No. It is not correct.

Needed:
Front sprocket
Front sprocket spacer depending on choice of sprockets
Chain-520 or 530 depending on sprocket choice
Rear sprocket
Tensioner

The component most challenging to get correct and provide consistent tension is the chain tensioner. EBR part # G0600.1B7----Suffix RevD. List is $174 and change. Still available. Most other tensioner choices are garbage.

Front sprocket(21 teeth); V-twin # 19-0384 / $13.97

Rear sprocket (51 teeth); Vortex (Odessa Fl.) # 827-51 / $63.95 + 6.95 shipping

530 diamond chain; V-twin # 19-0326 / $37.49

Idler pulley; Gates # 38023 / $16.78 (AND its available in ANY autozone in USA!)

I disagree with the sprocket sizes (pick your poison if you are capable of using the maths) because I have had problems with that large a front sprocket clearing the plastic cover. 19 fits.
I love using the stock idler bracket with the composite gear idler pulley. Upside down, one hole slotted for tension adjustment. Higher HP or hard use may not hold adjustment without dramatically over-torquing the mounting bolts so cross drilling a large (5/16-18) allen set screw to the stock stud solves that issue completely.
