It's time to ditch the fried stator. I need the crank lock tool but the only one I found was from NCCR or Twins in Europe. Willing to buy or borrow a used one. Located in Pensacola FL. I'm sure others on here have done the repair.

TIA

It's a brand new 1125 stator, along with many other 1125 parts. Barkers exhaust, mirrors, billet bits. Trying not to just throw it all away. Glad you have one already.

I have the tool, willing to ship, but I would need it paid for in case it doesn't come back (sorry, but you're new here). I could refund when returned. PM if interested.

34:19.... neither do you!

Shut up! Quit picking on me.
When is the next trackday?

Thx Cooter. A guy had posted with instructions for how to remove the stator on an XB hence my comment about "thx but different motor", but he deleted it after my reply. I ordered one from NCCR in sweden. If they fall through I'll borrow yours. Thx for the offer. If I thought there was a need for dozens I'd do a production run of them. I doubt enough DIY types are out there now. The motors are likely heading to the scrapyard after failed charging systems (or 1 of the other 1125 issues). A shame. I've had charging issues on 8 of my Buells. It's not that difficult to develop a stator that gets cooled by oil. I guess engineers don't ride much.

It was later designed to be cooled by oil. They even offered a service to have your existing one modified. You could contact Buell to see if they still do this, or St Paul to see where they were having it done (probably subbed out to EBR/Buell)

Twin Motorcycles looks like they still offer this service.

and a lack of service parts such as oversize bearings, pistons, rings, etc.

and a lack of interest from Harley and the current Buell to continue supporting this motor. The motor design is over 10 years old, and the current Buell is more focused on their future, rather than taking care of Harleys past. Personally, I dont blame them either. Nor do you see Erik Buell out there developing or selling 1125 parts or support.

having riders who do no service whatsoever until the bike stops running isnt helping the situation either. A few weeks ago, there was someone selling a 2014 1190 with a seized motor. He admitted he never checked/changed the oil.

now you have a lead to go get your rotor modified before you fry the charging system and send the motor to the scrap yard.

I already have a setup to drill the hole in the rotor for oil cooling. Appreciate the link tho. I have 15 Buells so other than the darn crank lock, I'm fairly self-sufficient with workarounds on everything from the S1 - 1190. Cheers.
