I tried many times/ways and no matter what I do, if I route the throttle and idle cables of my 02 xb9sl through the plastic bracket alongside the spinal cord of electronics, i get severe binding of the throttle when the bars are turned completely left.

The cable routing bracket is just barely visible in this pic:

The blue arrow is pointing to the bracket, and the red arrow highlighting the throttle and idle cables. They are not routed through the housing in this pic, but maybe you can imagine how much of a kink is created to route through the bracket. Just getting through the bracket is extremely tight. Has anyone removed some of the plastic sheathing that surrounds the electronics cables? It seems like that might make a bit more space.

I'm testing an alternative. In these images, I've removed the cable routing bracket completely, including the 2 bolts, nuts and washers at the front of the frame (which seem to only hold this plastic bracket on. Maybe they are shared with the firebolt but used for something more important on that model?). I looped a zip tie through each bolt hole to hold the throttle/idle cable and electronics cables in place:

This gives the cables a lot more freedom and the throttle feels WAY better through the entire range of motion.

Does anyone have a better suggestion? Is there anything I'm overlooking about the zip ties that I should be aware of? Is this somehow dangerous?
