I just love my new to me 2004 XB9S. It's a keeper for the long haul. I'm thinking of getting parts to have on hand for the inevitable. TPS, Ignition coil, front brake rotor, pads, fuel pump, anything else? Seals? I have a shift lever on order from Buelservice on eBay.

Take it from me, if you can afford it now, it'll be far more affordable than waiting for later. Get a belt...just rip the ducktape off the back hair and get the belt.

I was just thinking about a belt, lol. My bike is just about to hit 11k miles and for some reason it made me wonder if I should try to go ahead pick up a belt for future use. Hmmmm.....

There is no official maintenance time or mileage for belt replacement from Buell. The rare time someone posts a belt failure story it is at about 50K miles. I'm sure that matters greatly if it's been stored inside or out. I have personally rode back from the Grand Canyon to LA with 2 teeth missing;)

On the belt, A-Aron!

My thoughts:
TPS---infinite supply via aftermarket
Coil---spare good idea
Front and rear rotors---infinite supply via aftermarket
Front and rear pads----"""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""
Fuel pump---NOW failing at alarming rates----source a known top-quality complete OEM component kit or new pump
All seals----infinite supply via Harley Davidson
Clutch cable---spare good idea
Drive belt---infinite amount via aftermarket
Most all electrical components to include fuses..relays...VR's...bulbs...starters---infinite amount via aftermarket

Thanks Barrett!

Per usual, you're a treasure to our community. I've actually been trying to find some good part #'s for a replacement belt and I'm striking out. I was looking at Gates and Dayco, but I can't find the cross-reference...

That said, Wish.com has some AMAZING deals on Buell belts :black_eyed:

My pleasure Jimmy and thanks much for the very kind words. Wasn't aware of that site you mentioned but great to know.

Regarding the XB drive belts, I typically direct contact outfits such as BDL and Gates distributor, then supply the belt size to see what they're offering. Dimensions below. The 2003-only is a tough find. Can't recall its specs but know I have it somewhere on file here.
