Does anyone have experience positive or negative with the power sonic PALP-14hy lithium battery?
https://www.power-sonic.com/product/palp-14hy/

I am replacing a 3-4 year old lithium battery which still works but has lost its ability to inspire confidence in turning over the Uly in cold weather.

I like the lighter weight and less terminal corrosion of the Lithium iron (Fe) batteries.

Interesting post about cold cranking amps for lithium batteries.

Thanks in advance for constructive inputs.

There is a video (I think by Antigravity) where they show starting a Harley in cold conditions stored outside. It also struggled to turn the engine over

They turn on the ignition for a while and let the headlight and accessories "warm up" the battery, and it started like a champ.

I'm also looking for a replacement lithium battery for the Ulysses/Firebolt/1125 race/track bike, not so much for the cranking ability, but for the space savings as I am cramming the Ulysses electrics into a Firebolt tail.

In the past, when I needed a battery for the infamous "methbuell", I noticed that St Paul offers a Firepower (WPS) lithium battery. I talked to my WPS rep and he said that battery is no longer available, and the one it was superceded by is not "recommended" for V twin applications, so I went with another Deka Big Crank.

Anyhow, looking at your Power Sonic batteries, they look pretty similar to the Duraboost batteries offered by Cycle Gear. If you have a Cycle Gear in your area, you may want to look into this as an alternative, especially if you are in their "Riders Advantage Club". Since Duraboost is a Cycle Gear brand, the discount from being in the club, should apply and you should earn cash back for the purchase. Also, if it takes a dive early on, Cycle Gear is pretty good about easy peasy warranty/replacements, as trying to warranty a DOA lithium battery with a manufacturer. Some will stand behind their warranty, if you ship the battery back, but shipping a Lithium battery can be tricky, dangerous and/or illegal if done incorrectly.

Thats my $0.02. I'll be curious to know what you decide on and how it works for you.

I'm watching this thread hopefully to have real world reports of what works. Both of those batteries are very reasonably priced and both dramatically less expensive than the regular Yuasa AGM I just bought for the 749S:upset:

I have 2 of the NOCO jump boxes and gotta say they are the best ones I have ever used by FAR.

Cooter, I've had the NOCO battery installed since November '21. No issues. My commute is short, so I'm not sure I fully recharge the battery every day, so I put my cTek maintainer on it when I'm not riding for more than a couple days.

Mind, I live on the Redneck Riviera (NW FL), so really cold weather isn't an issue.

Thanks for the report:) Cold isn't really an issue for me either. I have come to prefer the Li-Ion batteries now. I'm not sure if it's because the quality of regular AGM's is so bad, or I just don't want to keep replacing batteries every 2 years.
