Hey there all. So, I purchased a bit of a basket case 2009 lightning long. I'm going to be looking for some parts to fix it up over the next few months. I've been searching the for sale threads and have already spotted a few things I need, when it's up and running and I'm sure it's worth the money.

My current needs are an intake boot/ velocity stack and the OE Left side scoop.

Anyone who might have anything available please let me know. Thanks

If the intake boot/velocity stack isn't different from year to year or model to model, I should have one of those for you off an '03 xb9 motor.

Also in the ridiculously unlikely chance someone has a good hero blue rear wheel and some unicorn poop that'd be good too

Forgive me for not knowing the names of all the colors. Is this the rear wheel you need?

Yes sir I believe it is. Did you find this on a salvage site or is this yours?

It’s mine. It’s been tucked in a corner of the garage since I brought it home. I haven’t had a chance to do anything with it yet. It’s a salvage title and has a damage frame, so I do not think it’s a reuilder.

For some unknown reason I can’t see the pictures and if you (motoguy) are going to part out that bike I am interested in some bits or I have a clean title frame for a regular XB I would part with.

It's a 2009 artic white firebolt with hero blue wheels. Hit hard in the front.2023-11-17 16.18.32.jpg

Man I love this forum. Looks like velocity stack, left side scoop, and even a hero blue rear wheel I've got nailed down. Next on the list is a right rider footpeg for a lightning or a pair of pegs that will fit it. And a headlight assembly. I really appreciate the help fellers!

She is coming along, much better now that I got all the black spray paint removed and polished the plastics! 20240520_152737.jpg

I'm not bullsh*ting when I say this guy is one of the finest painters in America and he's way to modest to ever agree....but Cody how in the hell did you bring those spray painted plastics back to life? That's absolutely incredible.

Well I'm no chip foose, but I get by. The plastics were a pain in arse! About 8 hours total sanding from 320 grit up to 3000 and buffing inside and out. They aren't absolutely like new perfect but they're good enough!

Does anyone know where I could order a front exhaust mount bushing? P/N S0136.02A8 I believe. Or if someone has a spare laying around they'll sell me that'd be great.

Little update on my basket case 09 lightning. Pretty well up to snuff finally. Still need to do front brakes and some cleaning/detailing. Ended up putting force exhaust on it, tune from ids to match, new tires, bearings, custom cheap stabilizer, ebay pegs. I think it cleaned up ok. Still working on little stuff to make it perfect. Sounds sweet for sure. Thanks everyone for your help!
