Hi Folk's!(not sure whether this is posted in the correct location - sorry...)
Is someone able to enlighten me on the list of sensor’s on a XB12S Lightening.(2007 - list above) Meaning...have part number’s, brand/s of sensor’s? Cross-reference, from genuine part number/s, listing’s. I have done a bit of research to no avail... as generic supplier’s don’t seem to have anything listed online.
I have doubt’s, that the injection system(management system) is Delphi. As I have the genuine bible,(workshop manual) and there appear’s to be no reference to the management system as being a ‘Delphi.’ After removing the injector’s for servicing, they are not ‘Delphi’, brand, but are ‘Siemens’ injector’s.(the bike is unmolested, original) Unfortunately the TPS does not have a brand name stamped on the side of the unit, only a part number.
So, I have become deeply suspicious that the whole injection system and it’s component’s are made up of different manufacturer’s, to make an operative system. I do believe only Eric Buell, and HD know all the detail’s of the component’s used.
I have fired e-mail’s to both, Delphi in the UK, and USA. Only UK responded without a clear understanding of my tech question/s. I also tried EBR, with a response that wasn’t the answer to my question/s. So sadly, I am having to throw it out there to the tech, guy’s that may know the answer to my question’s, information relating to the above.
For those that want to know the fault/issue with the bike, it’s over fuelling heavily! Black smoke.(unburnt fuel) Fuel pump/regulator has been replaced. I brought the bike from a mechanic whom was unable to fix the fault.(suspect ECU)
There was no fault code, so I found a local guy that know’s a bit about Buell’s so I sent the ECU to him to have it flashed, and install the latest firmware in the unit. Luckily, he had another bike coming in for repair’s and tested the unit to make sure it was ok, before returning the unit to me.
I am going to have to go through a thorough sensor by sensor as the bible does not state procedure for testing individual sensor’s, other than certain parameter’s of sensor/s. If I could work out brand and detail’s of sensor, I could probably manage to get the testing information from the manufacturer.(Bosch, Siemens, Denso, Hitachi, NGK, NTK, etc)
Quality brand’s... prefer ‘not’ chinese product’s!
Anyway gremlin’s are hard to find in this techno world! I learnt my trade back when you could fix item’s with simple item’s....bloody electronic’s....need electronic’s and then there is no guarantee! Anyway....so if there’s someone out there that understand’s my gobble-d-gook... please let me know!
Also, question concerning the larger starter motor.(due to length) The oil line's - does anyone know whether the line's are tweeked, or replaced? Hyd engineer to make-up replacement's?(new line's?) Or other?
Thank’s, Gav.
