You can, but its not reccomended. I would get Dobeck Techlusion to be safe. You dont have to do the air filter unless you really want to.

if you change the air outflow, you need to change the air getting in.
these engine are already getting warm enough so getting more cool air in saves your engine from extra wear.
and you'll also feel the difference performance wise.
