Hello,

Removing carb which is way overdue for cleaning. Have seen posts elsewhere that changing the LS jet to a larger orifice (45?) will result in smoother acceleration. Since this carb is a bugger to remove and replace unless you have fingers like a 10 year old, seems like this would be a good time to change it out.

Advice? Thanks, Darwin

Over the last 20+ years it's always been a little grumpy getting away. Not really anything really annoying but just thinking that if I was going to do it now is the time.

How are your intake tract o-rings and stuff. Any air leaks?

Does it 'pop', kind of like a sneeze? Or does it just feel 'fat' at low speeds?

I agree with MaBarrett. try turning the low speed screw (good luck finding that.) in half a turn and see if that's the direction you need. It'll either run better or worse which will tell you if it's rich or lean.

No leaks that I know of but replacing all when I pull the carb. Right now it's firing all over the place on account of all the snot in the carb. I have 5 bikes and it really wasn't getting ridden much at all. So there's a lot of gooey crap that I tried to flush out with running solvent (seafoam) but no go. So it is remove, clean and possibly change jets. There's a lot of recommendations on Bad Weather Bikers to use a 45 and a 200 or 205.

Not really running well enough right now to attempt that. And as far as I can see, it would involve removing the carb, adjusting and replacing ad infinitum.
