    Thanks a lot for your replies Mike. I will definitely do some more digging around to find the parts I need. Not sure if I want the chin fairing back on yet. Ill have to see after the fab process is done. Worst comes to worse I guess I could just rip the stocker apart and use the rest for scrap! :p

    Im currently building a custom exhaust for my 12R and need some help/advice. What is the piece of the exhaust called that fits around the outer part of the header? Can you buy these fittings online somewhere? Can i just slit a normal tube and just clamp it like the original?

    I used the original studs. But yes, I followed the manual step by step in the entire rebuild.

    Its gotta be where the jug meets the head. Im not able to see exactly where its at... due to the closeness to the frame. Plan to rotate the motor in a few weeks in time for spring. I was just curious if any else has had an issue with blowing gaskets. I dont undertsand why it would hold for...

    Went for a ride a few weeks ago, got to a stop light, looked down, and I noticed that my junk was smoking!!! Pulled over as fast as possible in fear for my buddy down below. I hop off and smoke is billowing out from under my seat... buddy not charred... Upon closer inspection oil was leaking...

    charging problem PLEASE HELP

    Check the plug from the VR. Apparently they can overheat and melt, or in my case (same thing happened. Speedo died then followed shortly by the bike) I adjusted the contacts inside the plug from the VR and reconnected. Havent had any problems since :)

    Where the head mounts to the frame, It split the threaded hole down the middle. Chunk of the head is missing. Got in a nasty wreck.
