What's the temperature where you're at this morning?!

I heard it may cross into the upper 40's in the out laying areas. But it's a dry cold. I just wish I could ride my bike to work. Between picking up kids and running work errands, I can't seem to squeeze in a ride to work on the bike.

    Indian ftr1200

I could see myself getting one of these. But it'll be a few years so I can snatch up a deal on a used one, hopefully with a 'free' $1200 exhaust on it.

    New member needs help

Now that you own it, change all the fluids, including the brake fluid. No telling how long it has been in there and it will give you an opportunity to look over the bike as you are working on it. It isn't a hard job, just time consuming. Look over the belt for any damage and check the...

Fit new belt on old sprockets?

Mine looks exactly like that and hasn't moved in years. I found a very small fray in my old belt and replaced it although I probably could have kept on using my old one until it broke. But I figured better safe than sorry, not to mention, I got a cheap belt off of a guy parting out a bike...

Aftermarket Levers that aren't death traps?

My Ebay set, which came on my bike tried to kill me by causing my front to lock up in traffic. That is when I researched it and found out about the issue. I got a stock lever off of Ebay. Funny enough, I got a Suzuki Bandit that had a similar issue with a lever that came with it. But...

Aftermarket Levers that aren't death traps?

You just have to check the clearance if you get a set. It is literally a 1/16"-1/32" off and can easily be ground down. I did so after my lever locked up my front caliper. Just check to see if it contacts the piston for the master cylinder, you need just a hair clearance.

To get a Buell or not?

I love my Buell XB-12S for city riding and am also in Phoenix. Yes, heat is an issue, but that is the game here in the desert. It is a great bike for the riding around town. I use synthetic oil to do what I can to help with the heat. I did add the 'Soft Clutch' mod to lower the clutch pull...

    XB12scg Seat Trade

Check out this 'custom' seat company. They add a comfort pad to an existing seat. They might be able to add height or at least not cut down the insert. http://www.greatdaytoride.com/

    How much and where?

    What to know before buying?

For not much more, you can get a nicer bike. It seems cheap at $2500, but when you consider you can get a nice one for $3500, the $1000 savings isn't much. The Micron is nice, but the bike does look rough. Especially if you can get a nicer bike for just a tad more. $1000 feels like a jump...

    2008 XB12 STT SE Michigan

Something is only worth what somebody else will pay. Sadly, there are so many cheap XBs out there, it is hard to get top dollar for even a nice, rare example. I don't know about where you are at, but here in Phoenix, AZ, there are a dozen XB's for $2500-3500. The ones closer to $3500 sit for...

    Strange intermittant/random slapping sound-2006 uly-25k miles

My bike made a rattle and I couldn't figure it out for a bit. I could barely hear it at idle and mainly heard it when higher up in the RPMs. I finally figure out it was my front headlight bracket ('L' shaped sheet metal) that was broken. It was cracked and didn't look broken until I moved it...

    Pleeease help me decide!!!

I'd go with the 1125CR, but mainly because I never had one and am more curious about it. I'd be worried about how little miles it had compared to the high miles on the XB. But if the 1125CR were local to me, I would definitely take a hard look at it.

Erik is back in the game- Vanguardspark Motorcycles

An electric bike would be great if you had a fixed commute to an office. When Victory announced they were closing, I was tempted to get one of their electric bikes for the commute to my office. But I knew my days at there was numbered, so I held off. Now that I work from home and travel to...

Erik is back in the game- Vanguardspark Motorcycles

I rode the Victory electric bike a year or so ago and loved it. Once the cost comes down a bit or the range goes way up, I would seriously consider one. Sadly, here in the Phoenix area, all the decent riding is 75 to 100 miles away before it gets nice. So an electric bike doesn't work for me...

    Holy sh!tsnacks

I test rode a Victory Empluse a few years ago at a test ride and loved it. I can definitely see owning an electric bike, particularly for running around town or commuting to work (although I work at home now). It would definitely take more planning to tour on one, but I'd assume most touring...

    Are these jackets legit?

Buy a used Vanson and have Buell patches sewn on. Vanson jackets are super durable and you can find deals on the used market. The race grade leather is second to none. I just wish they offered tall sizes in the Sportsrider line without having to custom order it. At 6'3", the Vanson off the...

    grip recommendations?

I use Grab-On foam grips. They are a sleeve that slides on over your existing grips. I used hair spray to lube the sleeve when putting it on. The hair spray then adds some hold once it dries. I don't ride in the rain much as I live in the desert, so I don't know how water and the hair spray...

Buy or pass on a non runner

Not that is matters now. But as mentioned above, $2500 is way too much for a non-running parts bike. I regularly see running Buells for $2500-3000 asking price. In fact, I bought my 2004 12S for $2500 5 years ago. It had a scrapped up swing arm (bought one on Ebay for $50-75) and scratches...

Does this T-Rex rear stand look like it fits my '07 12scg ?

The Buell is pretty wide at the Swing arm. My Pitbull rear stand is adjusted all the way out to fit my buell. It won't fit any of my other bikes (Suzuki DR650 & 1200S Bandit) when adjusted to the Buell. I suspect the T-Rex is just a tad narrow.
