    Spastic tach

Removed the gauge cluster and did ^^^. Did a visual inspection but no bad solder joints visible as far as I could tell. Checked continuity along SMC board from pink wire pin to stepper motor and no issues popped up. Rechecked wiring behind windscreen and recleaned pins and connector before...

    Spastic tach

I know ^^^^ and have been trying to narrow down instead of randomly throwing parts and $$$ at it. Started two years ago but haven't had much time over the last 18 months while stuck working longer hours from home in the midst of the pandemic. I've just recently had some time to retackle the...

    Spastic tach

Thanks Cooter. I feel like Bill after chasing this issue. If your suggestion fixes it then I will stop complaining about you crawling up my skirt, or just complain a little less.

    Spastic tach

My tach works fine until I have been riding for a while and then starts spastically bouncing around above 3k rpm. I have checked and cleaned all grounds, did a quick check for worn wires, checked the pink wire from the ECM to the gauge cluster, done the wiggle test, etc. What is odd is that I am...

    Buell Is Back!

Good point Cooter. Change happens. How many of those brands were bought and run by a company like LAP and the lack of experience in the business and engineering that made us fall in love with our Buells? Feel bad that Erik has lost control of the use of his name and the ways it is being used.

"Buell" is back but without Erik

Just read this https://www.roadracingworld.com/news/erik-buell-sets-the-record-straight/ Wishing Erik all the best with Fuell and feel for him and the use of his name by Melvin.

    Buell Is Back!

I am curious to what extent these new "Buell" models will follow and build on Erik's work and where the funding is coming from. Will they really be "Buells" or just use the name? Does Melvin have financial backers or is this strictly a LAP venture? Building it up with the view of selling it...

    Revision Moto XB-SG Slip-On Exhausts

South of Fort Worth. I have run into a few who knew what she was, then there are those who have no idea. Good to know of another Bueller in North Texas.

    Rear brake switch

Barrett, I found the part # but could not find one in stock in the dealership network. I ended up ordering a used one on eBay so I don’t have to splice the wires and can just plug and play. Thanks for the M10X1.25 twin wire banjo switch reference. I will add it to my list of parts options. Cheers.

    RH scoop info

I always wondered what Erik’s reasoning was for the asymmetrical scoops. At one time considered finding matching scoops but decided that they are one of the many things that makes a Buell a Buell.

    Rear brake switch

The original rear brake switch on my 04 XB12S has bit the dust. Looked online and did not have much luck locating one other than used, which can be a crap shoot. Anyone have a good one they are willing to sell, know where I can buy one, or recommendations for aftermarket option? Haven’t had...

    Revision Moto XB-SG Slip-On Exhausts

Yes, welcome fellow Texan. Not sure how many of us are out there and it is a big state. I can count on one hand the number of Buells I have seen in the Fort Worth area over the ten years I have been here.

    Scored

Congrats. I am eyeing one myself. A guy that lives in my neighborhood has one that he is thinking about selling and he told me if he does that I will have first dibs since I have a Buell and take care of it. He wants it to go to a good home.

    Don't give your Buell's away

Mine is worth more to me than I would every get for it. Will keep it and someday, when I have the time, money, and second Buell, plan to do a full restore.

Rear Brake Reservoir elbow connecting remote reservoir hose

Cooter, I would vote for you as moderator out of the shear humor and delight it would bring. If I ever found myself Buelless, I would still check out BuellXB just to get my Cooterisms fix. On another note, I pulled the retaining ring for the elbow and cannot for the life of me figure out how to...

Good roads in North Texas? Do they exist??

I feel you. We moved to the Fort Worth area about 10 years ago and bought my Buell soon after. The best I can say for North Texas is finding some back roads with twisties. Before Texas, and four years in MO to do graduate work, I livd in Loveland, CO which is an AMAZING place to ride. West are...

Rear Brake Reservoir elbow connecting remote reservoir hose

I pulled my rear wheel to replace my tire, wheel bearings, and belt on my 04 XB12S. In the process the plastic elbow connecting the remote reservoir hose the rear master cylinder broke, see attached image. I am hoping that the connector can be replaced instead of replacing the whole master...

    My Buell, finally finished !

Nice work! I also am a fan of the headers. On my someday list is to get that done along with my Hawk exhaust. I know a guy with a XB9SX with 4k miles who is thinking about selling it and approached me about buying it. If I do, I will be coming back to this thread.

    50K Shout Out

Meso, thanks for sharing. I have also tried to improve my XB12S for touring and commuting. I bought mine with 18k miles in 2011 for $3300. With kids in school and involved in lots of activities that we had to take them to, I didn't get to ride it as much as I wanted until kids started driving...

    Hawk performance exhaust

He was planning on moving this fall. Not sure if he has already left the country yet or not. Give him call and see. He is always fun to talk to and usually learn something new.
