    Will Race ECM from 06 fit an 04 xb

    NO! They are different firmwares for those 2 year models. It'd be better to just load the Race ECM mappings onto your current ECM AFTER saving a copy of it for back-up. Do not physically take an '06 ECM and plug it into an '04 Bike! 2006 = DDFI2 fuel injection 2004 = DDFI fuel injection

    Check simple stuff first - Ground/Frame Connections & Battery terminal connections. Also where the main harnass goes up through the steering neck, many times will chaff the wires and start shorting out.

    Check fluids & change if you haven't already to bike-specific full synthetic. While you're at it, look at your drain plug. Small metal shavings are normal, look for anything abnormal. Adjust Primary chain for kicks, if too loose it can knock around in there. Hopefully, it's as simple as one...

    Technically I don't know, I just know it does....as Kona and 1000 others can attest to. There's a reason, I just can't explain it. I just know its effects. Again, LOL, no it won't. Do like Kona said and try yours... I checked intake leaks & had none when my bike did it - simply turned down...

    [confused] Snrusnak?? This has been discussed multiple times. The manuals idle recommendation is too high. 950 is sweet spot. Do the simple stuff first. Twist the idle adjustment screw CCW a small bit after warm-up....simple. If no good, THEN proceed.

    1st - Adjust idle as close to 950 as you can AFTER the bike is up to Operating temp. -if still bad 2nd - Spray starter fluid around the intake seals with bike running. If idle jumps up, you have an intake leak. -if still bad 3rd - Do a TPS reset and begin looking at your maps... I'm...
