    Buells are terrible first bikes.

Doo doo doo, the elbow bones connected to the leg bone, the leg bones connected to the knee bone... no wait....

I’m new to the forum and I’m getting my first Buell.

If you do that, hang on to it. Those are getting really hard to find these days (in good shape). I'd recommend having a stock pipe converted to a Drummer rather than buying an SS, if you're going to build an adventure bike. The inlet pipe on the SS is only a "slip fit" that is siliconed into...

    Buells are terrible first bikes.

YES! I agree with this. The impass comes when someone picks up a 20+ year old bike (like a Buell), doesnt have a clue how a screwdriver works, and then is blasting the bike for being unreliable, money pit, etc. YES! I often get irked when driving on the freeway and see someone off to the...

Former Race Buells hiding under tarps?

This guy is in Maine and I think is motivated to sell. https://www.buellxb.com/forum/showthread.php?56654-2005-SCG-Maine-4-000

What the HELL are these sounds? 1 video + 1 more to come...

Did you pull off the primary cover itself and inspect the case for a damaged/worn out tensioner? The hissing is probably a leak in the intake seals, which would explain the high idle that takes a while to settle down. Which also explains the header pipe glowing red (lean). Make sure to read...

Its just for looks. If you get a Drummer SS, you will also need to buy a bracket to attach a chin fairing. If you send your stock muffler to Kevin, he will convert it to a Drummer and the stock fairing will attach up to it without an extra bracket.

Well, if you're cool with that, welcome to the club. It is a beautiful bike. Cool pic with the previous owner.

Those are likely front turn signals with the "extender piece" removed and reinstalled inside the front fairing/modules. I used to always ditch the front turn signals in place of another set of rear turn signals so they didnt stick out so far.

As soon as it gets throttle OR clutch? Big difference. Details matter when you're describing an issue on the internet. If its throttle, then you likely have a clogged main jet/passage or a torn diaphragm in the carb. If its clutch, you likely have a failing clutch safety switch or kickstand...

    Munched front wheel

The ones on ebay are from VPI, which is probably where the Harley dealer is going to order them from. This one would be on my short list, as at least they have truing stand to check for straightness and runout. Whether they know how to use it or not is another story... but I'd be optimistic...

    Parts cross reference thread

Use the 2008-2010 version and buy a new connector, or make one, or whatever. If someone replaced this in the past, the connector may have already been changed. That connector was used on many GM vehicles in the past, so if you're dead set on using that connector you should be able to find one...

This is very true. I appreciate and respect that. My response about getting a new current production bike was not meant as a dig at you (Tollywood). The intention was to prevent you a bunch of frustration and ending up with a money pit, when you just want to ride your bike. I like working on...
