Dean Adams RT-XB-1 exhaust sound comparison (with and without dB killer)

Credit goes to Dave at Buelltooth. I got the idea from him. As you can see, even using the same camera for my video, the sound was slightly different and deceptive. The dB meter really takes the guesswork out.

Dean Adams RT-XB-1 exhaust sound comparison (with and without dB killer)

Lol you’re too kind. I am getting better making videos as I play around with the software each time I make a video. It really comes down to taking the time to edit the video and add effects... really time consuming. I spent about 6 hours on two videos yesterday... it is hard to get blocks of...

Dean Adams RT-XB-1 exhaust sound comparison (with and without dB killer)

Following Buelltooth's lead, I've made a video using a dB meter to allow viewers to compare exhausts in similar conditions. I've been working on making dB killers for my Keda exhaust and this was an opportunity to showcase the sound reduction and performance. I've also included a video of how...

Opinions needed: Keda vs Drummer SS exhaust?

The Drummer SS did not have the dB killer installed. The Drummer and Keda are about the same volume at idle (around 100dB) but the Keda has an angrier growl when you go WOT. The Drummer SS has published dyno results you can look at online. The Keda does not, although both pipes pulled pretty...

Opinions needed: Keda vs Drummer SS exhaust?

I've had the Jardine RT1, Drummer SS, and Dean Adams RT-XB1 (Keda). Here is a comparison video I did for them: Here is another thing you can consider... Drummer SS has a dB killer option while the Dean Adams does not have an off the shelf option (I will be making a video shortly of a dB killer...

    Heads-up display for helmets

curious... think you would be able to make one that has adhesive backing to stick to the inside of your visor? That would probably solve the issue with dislodging and hitting your face...

    Heads-up display for helmets

That is awesome that you are DIYing your own... The stuff I personally like to see is for navigation (turn direction, street name, distance, speed). As for concerns, most of the companies out there have issue with safety in the event of a crash. The lens should be something that is shatter...

    XB 12ss Handlebars swap?

I was looking at my XB12S with Crossroads bars on them... It looks like if I put some clubman bars like the ones on the 1125CR it would put the hands in about the same place. Does that sound about right?

    Exhaust: what would you do?

If you like Kevin and want to go with an exhaust from him, I suggest the Drummer SS exhaust. It is worth the extra money on top of the regular Drummer. Here you can listen to the Drummer SS compared to the Dean Adams and Jardine:

Problems Running In Rain (bogging down, surge in power at high RPM)

I personally use Valvoline VR-1 20w-50 per recommendation by my mechanic buddy Jacob Stark, although Amsoil and Mobil1 are both great products as well. Especially if you regularly change your oil within 5,000 miles.

    Exhaust: what would you do?

Absolutely no clue... So on the stock XB9 they just leave the valve closed at all times? Or is the XB9 exhaust made without a valve? Also, I wonder if you went into your ECM using ECMDroid if you would have the option to turn on the exhaust actuator... I turned the setting off on my XB12 using...

    Exhaust: what would you do?

I have an actuator from an 06' and 09' xb12 if you decide to go with your stock exhaust.
