    Moto trailer porn!

Hey, Fatty SS! Engineers can do just as well with women, if not better, than most dudes [cool].

    ANY ISSUES WITH POWDERCOATING WHEELS?

So, they are Aluminum alloys? About 70% of the automobile-grade aluminum alloy stuff is composed of Al (obviously), Mg, and Cu/Cr. Even then, you're looking at higher a melting point of ~900°F+, so either wheel you have, it will be completely fine.

    ANY ISSUES WITH POWDERCOATING WHEELS?

snrusnak was right. The wheels are magnesium, which has a casting temperature of ~1200°F and a melting point of around ~800°F. That is for the average Magnesium Alloy wheel used in the automotive industry, so I am sure Buell wheels will hold up just fine. I am a Mechanical Engineering student...

Buell Spotting(s) - SDSU (San Diego State)

I have been going to school at SDSU for about 5 years now, but have hardly seen any other Buells on campus, until this year. I think I have seen about 4 or 5, since classes started two weeks ago. 1) Black and Silver XB9s (I am assuming '03-'05?) 2) Red XB-r (seemed fairly stock from the looks...

    Faint whining from the engine

That's the flux capacitor winding up. You should only be worried if you don't have legal tender from the 1950's. Just kidding :D What does the whining sound like (hard to answer, I know)? Does it sound like the fuel pump when it primes or more like a squeaky bearing? Also, does this happen at...

Bike complete and first test ride-

That is brutal! I really like the dark, unrefined, yet refined look of it (as odd as that sounds).

    rear brake line

I bought a full brembo rear brake setup (MC and all) and I ended up using the brembo line. It has a little excess to it, but only enough to give you slack to work with.

    Trouble codes 24,25

Before you start tearing everything apart, have you checked the connections on the spark plug wires? I recently replaced my wires because the connections had some moisture get to them and corroded. That can cause intermittent firing from bad contacts.

NEW 2004 12R with 2 miles! - Ride or Sell?

I have also seen this bike on CL for quite a while. If you decide to sell it, would you pick up another bike or pocket the cash? Like Jeff said, you will not get a ton of money out of it. It is more of a novelty that it is so pristine. If you have the time and patience, but also want to ride it...

    Trouble codes 24,25

Check the harness coming off of the coils, then check the harness coming off of the ecm. I don't have an '03 9r manual around, but I am sure you can trace which wires are ground/hot lead on the coil circuit. From there, it is a matter of painstakingly checking the wires for cracks, cuts, gouges...

    Your doing it wrong!

My final from my engineering class. Apparently, my professor likes to take it a step beyond that student-teacher bond:

3d printing, how hard would it be...

I like your thoughts, Retrax! I'm a mechanical engineering student and have taken some classes about manufacturing and one that was purely on sintering (3-D printing is a form of sintering). The modeling is the easy part. In fact, I could probably do a caad rendering pretty easily. The big...

    Prob - AMC Stuck open

Goose, it's easy to disable it. It should be under the diagnostics tab, on the far right side. Be sure that you have ECMSpy in "professional" mode.

    Craigslist Find - Phoenix

Right?! I'm not sure I could justify doing that for 1) the financial loss on it and 2) trying to explain why you'd buy a Buell without even so much as a coffee run on it. [confused]

    stock oem xb muffler

I picked up a donor 12r can off CL for $60. It had some minor dents, but I'd say worth while. I know I got a fair deal (the guy was never going to use it again), but he had originally listed it for $75 obo. If yours has no dents, I'd say list at $100 + shipping and be open to offers.

    Craigslist Find - Phoenix

I don't who would have the patience and discipline for this and I didn't think it was possible, but it was done! Brand-New 2004 XB12R

    Resistance/ relay issues..

I've been giving it more thought and think it's the LED turn signals you've got up front. I've got a couple spare stock signals, if you'd like them. I'll send you a message about it. Also, that extra wiring off of the battery is for a battery tender, so that is optional for you to have, but I...
