    James Intake Seals for Ulysses

Hey Barrett, thanks for that. I did get the 87B bit wrong. It was supposed to be 86B. Time for new glasses. Cheers, Stu

    James Intake Seals for Ulysses

Hey Everyone, Im about to fit new intake seals to my Uly. I broke the throttle body shaft so the intake had to come off to fix it so will do the seals at the same time. I have done them a couple of times before but the originals can be a bit hit and miss. Can someone confirm the correct James...

Ulysses a bit snatchy through trans

Hey Lunatic, thanks for that clarification on the importance of the ECM being grounded well. This miss/stutter in the mid range has plagued me since I purchased the bike at 30ks. Some days the bike runs well once cleared, other days it hangs around, no rhyme or reason to it. Generally though...

Ulysses a bit snatchy through trans

Hey Lunatic, thanks for that. I had already added more grounds to the bike. From the coil mount to the steering head, coil mount to the other side of the top engine stay and yes, coil mount to the neg side of the battery. What are the implications of this?????. I will relocate to the torx screw...

    Buell Fan Replacement

Hey Everyone, thought I would share my experience of replacing the fan on my 07 Ulysses but would be the same procedure for any XB Buell. As covered in a previous thread, a SPAL 5.2 Pusher fan, part number 30103013 has exactly the same motor and fan as the Buell original, just has to be fitted...

Ulysses a bit snatchy through trans

Hi, yes the erratic miss is in that range and only on a steady light load throttle. It is not continuous, just occasionally in the first 30km of any run then it seems to settle. AFV is 105%. I would be keen to hear what you think it is.

Ulysses a bit snatchy through trans

Yep, done all that, new plugs and leads, new intake seals, injectors, new TPS, coil and extra grounds around the bike. Did all this as a 70km freshen up which was pretty inexpensive.

Ulysses a bit snatchy through trans

Hey Everyone, my Ulysses has just clocked over 70,000kms so have freshened up a lot of parts to see if I can eliminate a minor engine miss. Miss does clear after around 30km so looks like it is a tuning issue in a couple of rev ranges so nothing major. Over the last few thousand ks though, I...

All XB models Ground wire Anomaly and Solution

Thanks John, I swapped a couple of the leads to the non shakey side and sprayed a bit of water dispersent around the terminals. Took it for a run after a TPS reset and yes, there was a noticeable improvement. Cranked over easier on the starter, idled better and held a steady low load speed...

All XB models Ground wire Anomaly and Solution

Hey Guys, I know this post is quite old but I have recently been chasing a intermittent miss fire and uneven running on my 07 Ulysses. Problem was, I had a couple of issues going on at once. Main one was the ECM had some dry soldered joints at the plugs causing cut outs. I finally tracked that...

    De Potting a ECM

Cheers, Cooter, I got a near new unit off ebay at a good price so my old one is just a play around unit. Keen to get more experience with the electronic side of Buells. Stu

    De Potting a ECM

Hey Everyone, just wondering if anyone has experience of de potting and extracting the innards of a ECM. The ECM on my Uly developed an intermittant fault of losing power to the fuel pump and it looks like it's a dry joint at the back of the plugs. Anything I should know before I start...

    XB Throttle Body vacumn tube

Hey Guys, just going over all of my bits on my 07 Uly before I start reassembling. I have been chasing low speed rough running for a bit so eliminating possible causes as I go. I noticed a brass tube on the side of the throttle body which I believe was for Californian emission compliance. I was...

    XB Injectors

Thanks Lowkey, lots of info to take in. Yes the Adrenalin R muffler is just a stainless straight thru system that I have fitted. The rough running issue was present with the previous owner using the standard muffler so issue has been quite persistent. I am still learning how to drive my...

    XB Injectors

Hi, cheers for that. Not so much blind replacement but eliminating all of the low cost variables first to establish a base point I can work from. Did a TPS reset using Buelltooth. AFV was reading 111.4% which is why I suspected intake seals but they appeared in good condition. The rough running...

    XB Injectors

Hi, it's a 07 with Adrenalin R muffler otherwise stock. Issues were reported by previous owner before any mods made so has been around for a while.

    XB Injectors

Hey Guys, giving my Ulysses a good going over at the moment. I have been chasing some low speed rough running issues for a while now so eliminating a lot of potential causes by replacing bits with new. Shes done 65ks so possibly due for a freshen up. I have fitted new fuel pump and filter...
