    You don't mention if you have a XB9 or a XB12 and what model year. There are a few ways to go faster (i.e. higher top speed). Some without necessarily modifying the engine. One cost effective way to go faster if you have the XB9 is the 11% primary gearing increase kit from ASB.com...

    Installed new shift lever toe peg rubber, $3.75 from ASB.com I would rather deal with Ed and co. than any HD dealer for my Buell parts. BEFORE: AFTER: While doing that, adjusted shift lever linkage to compensate for 1" lowered footpegs from Knight Design previously installed.

    That's a good point - you can do this - handle it, not necessarily on your own, but without your parents becoming directly involved.
