    fan control

Seems like you already came to a conclusion, but my guess is yes. The fan cools the rear head during running and doesn't need to cool it when off. I really wish my '05 xb9 had that feature.

    Transmission Oil

I should have thought about that, but I'm just so used to buying JASO-MA rated oils for motorcycles. Barrett is right, if it isn't shared with the clutch, no need for that. Interesting. I'll have to look into what makes a "v-twin oil" specific to v-twin engines.

    Transmission Oil

The primary and engine oil are separate. I know there are a bunch of people who use the same thing in both. I like to use the factory recommended Formula + in the primary, and any old 20-50 JASO MA rated Oil in the swingarm.

    kick stand question

I had to "fix" the side stand on my 2006 XB12X several times. My issue was not the pivot point, but the two bolts holding the stand onto the engine case. It was a HUGE pain to remove the muffler each and every time I needed to tighten those bolts. With the help of the gents on this board, I...

    Transmission Variances

Good to know. Thanks for the input, gents. I never adjusted the clutch on my Uly because I never felt it had a problem, but after riding my City-X, I'm pretty sure it could have been better. I've got no complaints with the Harley Formula +, so I'll keep using that.

    Transmission Variances

Hey there fellow Buellers. It seems like most of us have owned one or two of these machines, at least. I've read/heard more than once that the XB transmission is fairly clunky and unrefined, not great for clutch-less shifting, and doesn't hold a candle to that of Japanese bikes. Coming from a...

    Comfort Kit?

Now that's service! Tbone, thanks for your comments on the heat mitigation. That was my biggest problem with my Uly. Ultimately solved by going with an Xb9sx with a tall seat. Perfect height, plenty of power, but not as comfortable.

    Comfort Kit?

How big of a difference is it? My Uly had all but the exhaust header heat shield. it was still scorching hot.

    Comfort Kit?

Best bet is to find someone selling a Uly with the kit already installed and see if they want to sell those parts separately.

    LED Headlight upgrade

-Every New Car and/or Lifted Truck Driver Seriously, it's my biggest pet peeve with cars these days. Stop BLINDING me with those LED headlights! Even in the day time!

    '05 City X "The iMac"

I purchased some rare earth magnets form Harbor freight, but they turned out to be way too small. I found a bigger version on Amazon for $10, and they even came with pre-cut double sided tape. With six magnets taped to the inside of my airbox cover, it seems to secure my bag just fine for the...

Sweet bike! I should know, as I just bought one. Good luck with the sale!

    Introduction

Hi there. I used to own a CB200T. Fun little bike. Of course the one I owned was 40 years old and probably still had the original tires on it. Wasn't so fun when I started sliding around on the highway. You shouldn't have to re-spring it. The Buell suspension is fully adjustable. Do you have an...

Came Across a Uly For Sale

Looks like a great price for a 2010! Oil leak, though. I'd buy it. :eagerness:

    Fuell

    There's one of those, too.

    Fuell

Of all the things Erik could have taken from the XB series, the drive belt. I guess these are considered "Fuell on the frame"? :topsy_turvy:

    '05 City X "The iMac"

I don't know why that did not occur to me before. I thought about gluing magnets to the outside, but I don't want to screw up the plastic. That's an awesome idea, too. I will go that route if I cant get the magnets on my current tank bag to work well. I have been fairly successful using a...

    SCORED this today!

I have one on my SX I may be selling. The noise has gotten more tolerable, but I never had any problems with the stock exhaust on my X.

    '05 City X "The iMac"

Thank you! So, as luck would have it, the PO let me know that the fuel pump was previously replaced already. The first owner bought the bike and had to store it immediately, as he was in the military. The original fuel pump was toast after that, so it was replaced by the second owner. I'm...
