I LOL'd on that one. I absolutley love how many interchangeable parts are on these and appreciate the economy of engineering... but ya Erik got me on that one too:black_eyed: 'There is no Why' -Erik Buell

    Keyless gas cap

I didn't recognize that as a question, but yes. 5 bolts attach the gas cap seat to the tank/frame on a XB.

    Xb12 07 vs 09

It doesn't take much, to feel the affects I'm trying to communicate to you.

    Xb12 07 vs 09

Not "more V"... more "U" and the rear tire matters about 15-20%, wheras the front is directly connected to the steering, your hands and is responsible for steering effort (rake angle).

    Xb12 07 vs 09

Performance motorcycles and particularly the Buell XB platform has a very aggressive rake angle to make it turn in very easily. That also makes it sensitive to outside forces such as poor tire wear and road imperfections. A cruiser has a much more relaxed rake, so it self centers better and...

    Keyless gas cap

Not on the aftermarket cap that the OP is asking about. The subject, and point, of his post.

Draining oil from crank case for oil inspection

Just pull the clip from the fitting (no need to unscrew) and pull out the lower oil line, the one that feeds the sump/swingarm. If there's any significant amount of water in there, it will flow out first.

    Keyless gas cap

The cap is only held on by 3 bolts and the others are blind to make it look symmetrical. Pretty common thing on motorcycles.

    Xb12 07 vs 09

The profile of the tire goes from round.... to peaked, in the center of the tread because of the scrub when turning. So looking straight down at the tire, it will look like a V not a U. It makes for a very sharp radius as you start to lean (low effort, the falling in part), then a very flat...

I have an OG set from 5-0 Dro that look identical to those. I believe he is on the book of faces and still lurks here if you wanna go that route. I also have a really good and simple upgrade to the tiny shift lever pivot that has survived at least 2 lowsides without any damage if you're...

    Race Buell Improvement Thread

Quite a bit, they require the 110 because of both super aggressive timing curve and a massive amount of compression. You'd at least be in it a set of pistons and timing re-map to survive with the 97. Hard to say what the HP penalty would be. Buellers like these a...
