You convinced me not to change out the levers just yet. So thank you :) I'll give the scoops a look-see tomorrow, as from memory I don't recall seeing any of the tabs out but then again I wasn't "looking" in a way that I should have.

Talk me out of buying a XB-12Scg

HEY!!! another Buell n00b to converse with!! :) Firstly I want to say that I'm no expert when it comes to Buell other than some minor riding experience and just recently acquiring a 2009 1125r (LOVE IT). Which sports bikes have you had beforehand because I could probably give some perspective...

thank you for the advice, I had a look-see and I can get aftermarket brake pads/rotors here in Brisbane from a reputable company so I'm sorted there. The thing about Chinese stuff that bugs me is the QC they use, sometimes it's good, and sometimes it's damn terrible. The simple fact that in my...

For reference this is the issue I was talking about with the fairings separating slightly. Not sure if they were originally glued, as I can't see any mounting hardware that's come loose or missing.

    First Buell - 1125r 2009

Yes it's the butt of many jokes, we have a LOT of strange names here. For instance in Perth there's a city (read: suburb) called "Cockburn" and the amount of fun I had with that, the locals get REALLY annoyed when you don't pronounce it "CO-BURN" which seems like a bit of denial :P

Thanks Cooter, yes like you I get a little cray-cray about things simply because as you said, there's no warning and when it goes - it can go bad REALLY quickly. Oh I have a mechanic that I use regularly and I trust him, by the by if you ever do come to Brisbane for riding I'd recommend saying...

I was actually eyeing it off when I saw it here in the forums. Damn nice ride.

Hi Guys, Hope you're all well. So as I've pointed out in some of my other posts I'm going to be taking my Buell in to my mechanic to give it a going over and making sure it's up to scratch, he's done my track bikes and my regular rides and he's meticulous and most importantly - honest. Call...

AND Ukranian.....don't forget that ;) That was part of the reason I got the Buell, besides the provenance (I've wanted one ever since I saw my friends XB12r Firebolt, and my laptop wallpaper is the 1190rs Carbon). She's only done 24,000km so I'm hoping for her first service with my mechanic...

    First Buell - 1125r 2009

I actually enjoy the twists and suburban craziness most days, the straights and highway are fun but with the amount of unmarked police cars and the speed traps the cops prowl the highway a fair bit and won't hesitate to slap anti-hooning laws on you if you push it (+47km/hr over the speed limit...

    First Buell - 1125r 2009

Well I can't speak for where you are, and my experience of the US was incredibly limited (I was there for work mostly) but Brisbane has some charm to be found. Personally I prefer Perth as it's far less humid and much more predictable weather (the amount of times I've been caught in the rain in...

QLD, where Floridians would feel at home (I hate the humidity).

Police for the most part aren’t that bad here as long as you aren’t a complete bell-end when you talk to them. If you go full snarky attitude they’ll just make your day about 100 times worse. Keep your manners about you and you might get away with it but as we know here they’ll have some sort...

    First Buell - 1125r 2009

So my first real post, bought (read swapped) my '09 Gixxer for this baby, and I couldn't be happier. As I mentioned in a previous thread there are some things I want to do to make sure she's 100% but otherwise I curse this COVID stuff for stopping my ability to go places (frickin quarantine)

    No more drive belts?

Thank you brother, i'll give them a call tonight (i'm in Australia sooooooo a bit of a time difference). I managed to find one here in Sydney this morning but will be looking for spares especially the buell specific ones that I can't seem to get anywhere else. Harley Davidson dealerships know...

    No more drive belts?

First of all, first post!!! Hope you're all doing well. Second i'm having the same problems with trying to find a drive belt for my '09 1125r which I got yesterday. I can get one from TwinMotorcycles.nl but trying to see if there are local options as well. Is there anyone who's done an...
