    Makes sense. A while ago, there was a thread about using zip ties to hold open the valve in the stock muffler. Does this acheive a similar effect to the race pipe?

    That's one of the first things I did when I bought the bike (tps reset). Seemed to idle too rough at startup. Found this forum and found that lil' nugget a wisdom. It helped then but I'm not sure how that would improve the bogging in first gear.

    Oscillation beggining at ~160km/h - 100MPH

    Mine was doing that too at lower speeds until I got my suspension set up right for my weight and got the correct air pressure in my tires.

    Good info, thanks for your help guys. So after using 2.5 quarts as per the manual, and after topping off, I ended up using a full three quarts. I'll definitely be keeping a closer eye on my fluids.

    Yeah, I filled the filter. I followed the procedure in the manual. First time I've changed it since buying the bike in March. I haven't noticed any smoke either. Hopefully that means I haven't done any damage.
