    Broken exhaust stud on xb9sx

Riding today I suddenly heard a funny noise that sounded exhaust related. Got home and saw that one of the studs and nuts that connects the front cylinder's header pipe to the engine was missing. I removed the other and saw that the stud is broken about 1/8" below the surface of the engine head...

Can I get some radar detector mounting pics for the 1125CR?

I used to have a fairly cheapo Cobra radar detector mounted to a prior bike (ST1100). It was about $90, and mounted with an aluminum angle piece with velcro glued to it and another piece of velcro glued to the plastic behind the windscreen. Generally it worked fine for me and saved my ass a...

    Buffing question.

Before I replaced mine, I thought about using a butane torch to very slightly melt the surfaces smooth, to eliminate the scratches. In retrospect this probably wouldn't have been a smart thing to do since they're glued onto the fuel tank.

    WEAR YOUR FRIGGEN LEATHERS

My 2002 Honda st1100 had a speed wobble when decelerating, usually through about 40mph. After reading a forum post I had the headset bearings replaced (balls to roller bearings) and no doubt tightened in the process. No more speed wobble.

Lightning xb9sx Northwest Edition - A belated introduction

BuellerPilot, where in Virginia? I grew up outside of D.C. in Fairfax/Herndon/Falls Church, but went to college in Williamsburg. I miss VA a lot and think about coming "home" sometimes.

    WEAR YOUR FRIGGEN LEATHERS

That video is an old classic. A must-watch if you ask me for those that don't know what can bite you. I got in a bad high side wreck on a Honda ST1100 a couple of years ago on a gravel strewn corner going down a mountain. Had my leather pants on and an armored textile jacket. The paramedics...

Lightning xb9sx Northwest Edition - A belated introduction

BuellerPilot, I peruse pictures on this forum of people's bikes, poised on their asphalt driveways in their suburban homes and imagine what it would be like not to have to drive down 2/10 of a mile of mud every time I want to ride. Wish it weren't so, but it's my reality. I don't like the look...

xb plastic and clutch cable for sale

xtremelow, I didn't mess up the airbox cover. It was that way when I bought the bike. And yes, I image you would be all over an undamaged airbox plus a flyscreen shipped for $75. That's why the price is this low.

xb plastic and clutch cable for sale

From a 2007 xb9sx with 13k miles on it, one airbox cover and one flyscreen in translucent gray, and one clutch cable. The airbox cover is cracked around the front left screw hole, but with a washer it works fine. Or, you could fix it with some epoxy for appearance's sake. The flyscreen is in...
