Sad day - crashed my beautiful '09 Firebolt today

So my wife's with the tow company right now, and she's not being allowed to take pictures. However, things are looking up. The major damage is to the body work (front fairing - looks like stuff behind it is okay but we'll see) - top of airbox and seat cowl scratched. Frame untouched - even...

Sad day - crashed my beautiful '09 Firebolt today

You, my friend, are awesome. Thank you. I will do all of that. The battle, at least right now, is with the insurance company. I'm convinced they are going to try to immediately total it. Luckily I told the adjustor that I had a spreadsheet of custom parts/add-ons - and she said that would...

Sad day - crashed my beautiful '09 Firebolt today

I agree...like most of us, the frustration is in having spent so much time and effort over the years making this a truly unique motorcycle.

Sad day - crashed my beautiful '09 Firebolt today

Thank you for the very nice words. I would love to put it back together again - still need to get it home from the tow company and assess all the damage. I had all the frame/axle protection available, but it seemed (not that I got a very good look at it for any length of time) that the major...

Sad day - crashed my beautiful '09 Firebolt today

Well, I haven't frequented the forum for a long time. I've been riding often enough (and enjoying it). Highsided my Firebolt today in a fairly spectacular back end over front fashion. I'm extremely fortunate that my gear did the trick, and I have no broken bones (just a lot of pain -...

Two questions about turn signal issue - need to order parts soon and want to be clear

Did some of that social distancing today for 3-4 hours - but on the Firebolt. Throttle therapy.

Two questions about turn signal issue - need to order parts soon and want to be clear

All good - I got the stock flasher from St. Paul's HD and installed everything yesterday. Grounds cleaned and checked while battery was out of bike. For what it is worth, EZ (*the Blast expert other than N. Oberg and J. Lee) recommends the EP-36 as it works for both LED and stock signals...

Gratuitous thread...just wanted to post a few pictures

I love that pulley cover as well. I have a spare set apart from when Sandro did the one-off order a few years ago.

Thanks, John - will do. Any chance you have one in stock?

Two questions about turn signal issue - need to order parts soon and want to be clear

Answered my own question on where the circuit breakers are - the main C/B is actually "behind" the flasher (in relation to the rear of the bike). The tab to pry is on the "left side" of that assembly. Figure 7-42 was most helpful (in the manual) Am I correct in that if everything else is...

Two questions about turn signal issue - need to order parts soon and want to be clear

All, Rear left turn signal out. Turned out not to be bulb. While troubleshooting, all turn signals quit working (other lights, indicators okay). No fuses from fusebox blown. From other threads, this would seem to indicate flasher replacement time. However - two questions: 1 - is the...

Gratuitous thread...just wanted to post a few pictures

Yeah - they're part of the bracket that supports the OEM bag system. I have those (the cowl and saddle bags), but I've never used them. The brackets make a nice spot to put the reflective strips as well (removing the need for colored reflectors - I like them). Thanks everyone - this bike is...

Gratuitous thread...just wanted to post a few pictures

The other day I got a chance to go for a long ride. While gearing up, I decided to snap a few photos. I think she's crazy beautiful. I feel very lucky to have her.

Drummer SS and BlueThooth delivering Monday - questions

Drummer's rock. Kevin is the man. The SS has the option of a core pack that lasts a long time, but there is no modular baffling. The muffler is *not, however, super loud. If anything, it "growls" more than it "barks". It sounds just right to my ears. Now the D&D muffler, on the other hand...

    XB Cams in Blast

Lunatic beat me to the punch. Lee is "the man" with regard to the Blast, and quite a few Blast owners (including myself) congregate virtually at the bulletin board linked in John's post.

Anyone else get a ride in on Christmas day?

Just wondering if anyone else had the opportunity to ride on Christmas day? Here in the Blue Ridge Mts., this season isn't the best for riding. However, yesterday was sunny (if cold) so I took the Firebolt out to bomb some of my favorite local roads. Merry Christmas to me. This is such a...

xb12s right side cover / scoop

Yeah, but at least to my eyes, the right side scoop balances out the bike's look a *lot* better than the stock one. For me, the stock scoop looks *really* assymetric as compared to the left side scoop. The comfort kit scoop is a "bit assymetric" but begins to even out the perspective on both...
