    Dealership scewed me, I think..

They probably used it for demos. You were the first owner but it was still used. I would not pay a premium for a "new" bike that had over 1000 miles on it. What makes you think you got screwed?

    Cam gears cover removal?

if he hasnt painted it yet after 3 years i doubt he is going to.

    insurance classification category

I really don't want this to turn into a what you pay like I said originally. It varies so much state to state that its not a fair comparison. Ever state has unique insurance laws. Especially since I live in Michigan which has the highest premiums in the nation. This was to help me figure out...

Thanks for the replies. This is one instance where it sucks that no one knows what a Buell is.

    insurance classification category

Yea Ive had the bike for 6 years now. I havent payed attention to a lot of bills in the past. I just pay them as a fact of life. I want to at least try to knock it down a category. Worst they say is no.

    insurance classification category

Ive searched and come across a couple of threads about this topic but it always turns into how much everyone pays for insurance. I do NOT want to know how much you are paying lets not go down that road, but how do they classify your bike. Autoowners tells me that my XB12s falls into the "high...

    Got FZ-09?

A friend of mine has one. I wouldn't say the suspension is no good but there is definite room for improvement. Its a pretty fun bike that's got a great engine and riding position. Revzilla put out a couple of nice articles on both the suspension and fueling. You probably found these...

    Primary chain tensioner repair

As far as kits I have found some good deals on the perma-coil brand on amazon. Same thing as a helicoil just different mfg.

    Primary chain tensioner repair

I used a helicoil in mine. Works just fine, no oil leaks. I'm pretty sure it was 1/2"-13 but its been a while. There is enough thread that sticks out just grab a 1/2" nut to double check. I might be able to when i get home later.

Get out in the garage and work on something.

Yea Ive heard good things. And just as a disclaimer to everyone the 97 S1 engine came out of a bike that was in a wreck. The frame and everything else was garbage. I picked this project up that was started by someone else.

Making my own axle sliders, can someone measure

I measured the inside diameters for my bike some time ago. I was one of the first ones to buy the knight design sliders, this was also before 5-0 dro was making the sliders. The ones I purchased from Knight only one of them fit so I measured my bike and sent them the measurements. The rest of...

Get out in the garage and work on something.

I fired this up about a week ago. Still needs some tuning. It has a brand new mikuni hsr42 on it and the idle isn't really set right. This was just a test to make sure it runs before i spend anymore time and money on it. aXg2cRsd-Wk

    Fork oil...cc's

thats a helpful number to buy the correct amount but when you do this you really should measure from the top. it not harley that specifies it that way. they are showa forks which are used on all kinds of motorcycles.

    Closed Loop Idle Question

A wideband o2 would really help with this. I suspect you may have removed too much fuel from the idle. Has the afv changed much from 100 since your last change. Have you gone on a nice ride for it to adjust the afv? On the plus side you probably don't get much decel popping I'm guessing.

    Sprocket Cover Oil Leak

There is definitely no oil in the swingarm bolt. That's a new one. Its coming from somewhere else and collecting in there somehow.

    Closed Loop Idle Question

Give us the whole story. What did you change in the map? Will it or has it run at all since you changed the map(was it rideable)? I have 3 suspicions 1. You flashed the whole eeprom of a race map from an incompatible version. Do not burn a different eeprom to your bike. Now its not even...

    brass fillings in oil?

What oil? The clutch/primary and transmission share oil. The engine oil is separate. There will be more particles in the trans oil from the clutch wear.
