    Clutch basket inspection

Thanx dudes! I'll check it out. Yip, it might be cheaper just to make up a tool. :) I am waiting for our crazy exchange rates to hopefully come down a bit. I still need to order the gaskets for the rocker covers, so then I might as well do primary gaskets as well. I'll just do everything in...

    Clutch basket inspection

Sorry, it has been a bit hectic. I actually took this video 2 weeks ago already, but only got around to uploading it now. And off course the video went on sideways in stead of portrait wise. Sorry! :D Check oil level, topped it up a bit, bu the noise is pretty much still there...

    Clutch basket inspection

I adjusted the clutch at the case/basket and in the front at motor mount. I noticed some milky whiteness when I pulled the clutch adjustment cover off. Oil was changed end August and has done less than 2 000km on it. Clutch isn't slipping, shifting i sometimes clunking - as Buells are. :) I...

    Clutch basket inspection

Hi guys, I need some general advice before I get into this. My clutch area is making a pretty decent noise when the lever isn't pulled in. It is very noticeable when engaging and disengaging the clutch. Now for the questions: 1. What is involved with inspecting the clutch basket? 2. What are...

    muffler redo ulysses

Nice! I removed all my internals and just run two straight perforated pipes, exiting into two tips. Works great and sounds loads better than stock sewing machine pipe! You'll love it!

Thanx! Where would be the best place to buy from or are they all pretty much the same?

    Rocker cover gaskets

Hi guys! Hope you all had a really blessed Christmas and great New Year! Just came back from holiday and we have another heart wave set to hit Cape Town tomorrow :upset: I need to do some maintenance work on the Uly. It is an 08 XT. I remember you guys suggested aftermarket/better rocker...

    Recycled Buell

Just the battery basically... I replaced the battery on my Uly earlier in the year and somehow kept the old battery. Also bought three 1000 litre flowbins to capture rain water from our roofs. Hooked battery up to a little pump and it has enough juice to power the pump and water the garden and...

    New rear tyre

The Karoo 3 I had on served me well. Did about 8000km on it. Finding decent dual sport tyres is always a mission - especially in South Africa and specifically ones for the Uly's size. I originally had a 185 on the rear, but the widest 17" dual sport I can find is 170, which works fine. Thanx...

The little Uly that could (and still can!)...

Next morning the array of BMWs, KTMs and one or two older or proper offroaders lined up. Loads of testosterone and money around... Got going and eventually everybody settled down. Spent the morning on back dirt roads. Then, I had to jump start a BMW! Couldn't let this shot sneak...

The little Uly that could (and still can!)...

Spring is here in the Southern hemisphere and we had a great spell of hot weather this past weekend. First ride of the season was to an adventure bike get together for the weekend called "River Run" about 2 hours away from where I live. Five of us got together on Friday at around 12pm and took...

    wheel bearings

Bearing removal pretty easy. Round bar with slight lip gives enough space to knock bearings out. There is just enough room to get in. Put new bearings in freezer. It goes in so much easier! Small square piece of wood over the bearings when you install helps to displace force. Gentle blows on...

What did you do for your Buell today?

Oil change and also checked wheel bearings. Have adventure weekend on first weekend of September. Don't want to be stuck like last year with busted rear wheel bearing... Painted screen with plastidip type paint. And those "bubbles" are water droplets. :D Will see how it holds up.
