SHIFTING TROUBLE ON MY X1. NEED ADVICE

We had an X1 in recently, and also a Sportster with similar issues. The Evo style trannys are pretty bullet proof. You might have a look at your detent plate. You have to pull the primary chain and clutch basket to get at it. It's a cheap part and easy to replace. The X1 had a broken...

    Buell and Harley Riders?

I have a few. I build custom shovelheads at my shop. http://i253.photobucket.com/albums/hh68/Hambone4570/Bikes/DSC00628.jpg http://i253.photobucket.com/albums/hh68/Hambone4570/Bikes/shopshovelrt.jpg

You are not alone. I live on a gravel road and it helps keep junk off me.

    Tranny work

We haven't had to do any transmission work on a Buell or Evo Sportster in the last three years at the shop. I wouldn't go inside the transmission unless it flat won't shift. Look at clutch adjustment and all the related parts first.

    Dyna Beads

I sell and recommend Dyna Beads in my shop. The manufacturer recommends against use in race slicks, not DOT street tires. As to rim wear and tire damage... I don't buy it. The size of the beads is smaller than the head of a pin. Very little mass to do any damage. As to the tire damage...

Oklahoma Group rides & Talimena scenic drive ride

I'm up for it. I would probably take my toybox and set up at Talimena State park on a Friday afternoon. That could be a good base for someone wanting to camp out. Nice showers etc. I would have plenty of room for anyone needing a place for their bedroll.. or space in the trailer to haul out...

Translucent red/maroon - what helmets match that color?

I don't do the picture post thing, but check out the Fulmer helmets. I'm running an M1 modular in Ghost Red that matches my Cherry Bomb XB pretty good. It has red and black graphics that are matte finished and the red is reflective at night....cool lid.

Best Buell to buy, please help.

Don't get me wrong guys, I love my XB12, but I don't care how much you bore it, stroke it... and so on, it still won't be as fast as a stock Busa. The Buell is way cooler, but you can't make them as fast as the Jap bikes.

just bought an 05 and quite running

I bought an 05 Firebolt to fix and sell. After doing a new top end, I had it die on the test ride. It coughed a couple times acting like it was running out of gas, and then just crapped out. I would do all the above with changing oil, gas, and plugs. If nothing else, now you have a baseline...

    Battery of choice?

I go along with Interstate too. They are made in USA by Yuasa, and have a 6 month no BS guarantee. They keep the battery rack full at the shop and I pay as they are used. Good deal. I think a $25.00 Ebay battery is probably junk. The Interstates go for about $95.

Handlebar swap: what am I doing wrong?

I switched to Pro Taper Conture bars using an 1 1/4 clamp adapter. The bars were a mini bend that they make for 80cc MX bikes. I hacked a half inch off each end and they fit using stock cables and wiring. This is on a XB12Scg

I usually go to Wednesday bike night at Mooney's, I-35 and Indian Hill in Norman. I'm not always on my Buell, though.
