Brand new owner :XB12SS Brake questions

Welcome! I have an XB12SS and an EBR so I can probably help a bit. EBR does not have a very modern order system. You need to send an email to their parts dept and ask for the order form (no, why would it be posted on the website) then manually find and fill in the part information from the...

Ya gotta be kidding me. Tire installation.

A rule of life I have is that anytime you think you have a clever idea go to youtube and search, someone already did it but at least you had the idea independently. I was thinking about minimizing risk of rim damage while breaking the tire bead, I figured pulling the valve core and hooking up a...

    buell factory right side scoop

Great reference! My rear CHT is lower with the bigger CF scoop on, should I ever have an issue with vapor lock I can fire sleeve the rail, if I ever start doing allot of parades in Vegas. Is there an archive of the Fuell mags online? I have looked but not found them.

    buell factory right side scoop

I have the CF L + R ones and cooling has been excellent. I *think* I recall reading in the Fuell magazine (the old Buell brand mag) that the left and right were different for a reason but I don't recall what model it was discussing. Anyway, the big CF ones on both sides have worked great for me.

    Am I crazy or what????????

Lack of a knock sensor is exactly why I am looking to add a stand alone (one of the few I consider legit) knock control system with my present tuning and build. The stock system just does not take into account (by legitimate design) the build I have in place. I first considered stripping out the...

    Am I crazy or what????????

Running timing too far advanced can cause unnecessary engine heat without resulting in more power, and it has been theorized that running a higher octane can delay combustion resulting in the same effect in some engines, I tend to agree that this could be the case and why you are seeing lower...

    Am I crazy or what????????

Octane is perhaps the most misunderstood aspect of fuel. What a higher octane does is retard the combustion event until conditions are right, running too low of an octane allows the combustion event to occur too early. An engine running higher compression ratios or a higher effective ratio...

    Exhaust question

The Drummer is heavier than the Jardine but the sound is very very Harley Davidson, I have it and decided to keep it. If you change exhaust you want to load a matching tune to your ECU, and it would be an ideal time to install a K&N as well. This is not hard to do, and not expensive. There are...

Long time Buell lover, first time owner.

Awesome buy, and good taste for a young fellow! These bikes are a special thing and choosing to own one is a very deliberate choice. What are your plans for the bike?

Will an XB9 Firebolt tail frame and cover fit an XB12Ss?

I have always liked the single seat tail of the Firebolt and the Lightning front end. There is a FIrebolt tail frame and cover for sale near me, if it fits I am all over it but I don't have any local bikes to do a comparison with.

    Rear End Tidy Up

Mine already had a simple plate holder and posts that have LEDs in them for the bolts to hold the plate on. The turn signals are small carbon fiber ones attached to the plate mount. Just yesterday I installed an LED tail/brake bulb and a modulator that does some rapid flashes followed by steady...

'05 XB New Bike Owner Help

The Buell isn't necessarily any more difficult to fix or maintain than any other bike out there, in fact it is relatively uncomplicated in many ways. There are no complex ABS, wheelie or traction control systems. The motor is a HD Sportster based design that is fairly settled science, and the...

    Where to buy buell parts

There is a shop in Utah and a shop in New Castle PA https://shop.newcastlehd.com/cart that sell online for less than my local HD dealers.

    Well this s u x.....EBR

I could see the engine turning up in a side by side or something if a company buys the tooling and IP, and probably the parts will end up bought by some existing operation and being sold to owners. A stretch goal would be complete parts kits being sold for DIY bikes, but I doubt that. I don't...

New to me '08. Lots of codes and no power. Possible Fuel Pump. Please help.

I used anti-seize every time for years without problems. On a particularly high boost Subaru of mine I was having trouble on the dyno, so the tuner asked about anti seize being used and suggested we pull the plugs and clean it off and the missfire went away at the high boost/ high RPM levels...

    Well this really sucks

And as long as your pulling all that, it is an easy thing to install a big bore 1275cc kit, now you have a new bore and pistons in the mix too. And you could just have them fix the plug holes while your getting the heads ported then you have an entire new top end. As long as your pulling it...

    EBR 1190....yes or no???

I picket up a new in box 1190RX and it is simply the most amazing bike I have ever ridden. It is similar to the air cooled Buells in many ways, yet so radically different when it comes to the drivetrain. Even with my XB12 modded with big bore/cams/heads/etc. seems slow by comparison to the EBR...

    Tail Luggage

What model Tourmaster is that? It seems ideal for what I sometimes need (larger than the contoured one I have now).
