Damn...Why did the uly run perfect this morning, Then!

Just a guess but your ecm may be cracked. If you can wiggle the terminals where the harness plugs into the ecm it probably is the cause of your problems. The longer you ride the seat base heats up and bends enough to contact the ecm and damage it.

bent a valve a push rod AGAIN!

My 2001 service manual states at 2500 RPM 10 to 17 psi. At idle 7 to 12 psi but these values are for a warm engine that has been run for twenty miles at or above fifty mph. They do not give a cold specification.

where is all of my oil going?

Did the oil smell like gas before you changed it ? If your running too rich fuel can get past the rings thinning the oil causing high oil consumption.

I don"t know of a way to adopt another latching system and make it look good. What will keep you from breaking latches is to never use the latch to pull the case closed. Proper belt tension

On my X1 used a old dirt bike technique. Take off your seat and run a tie down over the frame down to the swing arm. Tighten the strap untill the axel swing arm and counter shaft sproket center are lined up. This will be the point where the belt will be at its tightest and needs about 3/4 in. of...
