Thanks for the generous offer! Unfortunately, I'm on the opposite side of the country. But, have a blast! And let us know how it goes!

    Embarrassing beginner question

Welcome, Tankster! Glad you are asking the question...and good advice from both Silverrider and mosquito. I've been riding off and on for 30 years, but my XB12Ss was my first bike with that much displacement and that much torque, so I was also a bit nervous about it when I first bought it. As...

    buying a buell 2009 xb9sx

Welcome Danny! Do some more searches on the forum (Google is your friend here). There are lots of threads with info about what to look for when buying a Buell and about parts availability (so far, I have not had any trouble getting parts for my '09 XB12Ss and I don't think it will be an...

    Bolts in exhaust header?

But, hey...could be that the PO was actually Johnny Blaze and you could be the next Ghost Rider! https://d1466nnw0ex81e.cloudfront.net/n_iv/600/670831.jpg On the other hand, I'd replace the header if it were my bike...especially if there are signs of leaking as you point out.

    Buell Clubs in Oregon

LOTS of people are going to see the eclipse. :black_eyed: The population of Oregon will pretty much double during the next week. My house is in a region of 99+% totality. But my family and I are crazy enough to venture south to see a minor league baseball game that is taking place in the path...

    Suggestions while I'm in there?

That's a pretty inclusive list. You might go ahead and replace the spark plug wires while you are at it. I used iridium plugs in my XB12Ss (NGK DCPR9EIX) and I went with the wires from Iron Machine (https://www.ironmachine.com/). But, there are plenty of other options as well. As always...

    Bolts in exhaust header?

Actually...I almost wonder if that is what someone had put the holes there for! Lots of videos of flame throwing exhausts on the internet. Seems like the holes are a bit small and not quite in the right place, but you never know. :D

    New member from south italy.

That's like telling someone to not think about an elephant or something like that. Of course...I had to. The first thing that came up in a Google search was a video of a song called "Punch her in the cooter"...dude, that's some weird stuff. :black_eyed:

Welcome, Giuseppe! Good luck with the search! Keep us posted. I've never been to Italy (or anywhere in Europe for that matter)...but would love to visit someday. So much great motorcycle history in Italy...it would be an awesome place to do some riding.

    New To Buell....and motorcycles

Like Cooter said...welcome both of you! And...don't forget the pics! jfreeman - you've probably already taken a motorcycle safety course but if not I'd highly recommend it. IMHO it is important for all of us to continue to refresh our skills and get additional training as there is always...

Looking to Replace my Z1000 that I Just Sold with a Buell and have some Questions.

If you're really feeling worried about it...you might try one of the other ones out to see if it feels/acts the same way. I agree with BuellyBagger...I'd take a look at the STT. I have an '09 Ss. The transmission is very smooth. It can be clunky getting into 1st, but not that much more than...

    Im BAAAAACK!

Thanks for the info, Shaun. If I were to go for an Aprilia, it would probably be the Tuono...the V4 engine is supposed to be pretty phenomenal. That said...if I wanted that powerful of a bike, I'd probably just pick up an EBR for way cheaper and enjoy a garage full of Buells. :-)

    Bucket list ride

Thanks, guys! Miguel (my friend in the pic) has family in Spain. My real bucket list motorcycle trip would be to ride with him in Spain and go see a MotoGP race at Jerez (not that far from his folk's place). Someday...

    Bucket list ride

Hi all, Been away from the forum for a bit so just catching up. Went for a trip to the East Coast with my family and had some great visits with friends and family from NYC to NJ to PA to DC. While I was in NJ, had the chance to check one of the bucket list by going for a ride with an old...
