Would love to meet up with you characters before too long. Early Spring makes more sense then January. Lunch at the Whale Café--Thinks are so out there now that who knows. For sure I will be ready for a burn pretty soon. You can recognize me as I will be the guy on the XR1200. Kick it...

Good Luck Mr. B, Check your fuel pump fuse before you attempt to start up. They go bad along with the fuel pump. Count your teeth on the drive belt. If it is the same as mine I will send it to you. Opto

    Heated gear

Well, Barrett--48 degrees is a warm day around here for 3-4 months/year. I pretty much ride all year except for January--lots of ice on the roads then. For sure I will look into the heated grips for the XR The Uly was the first bike I ever had with heated grips and they make all the...

    Troubleshooting advice: Rough running XB

Mr B Man, Seems like the buellpump is a rite of passage. I just had to be rescued 600 miles from home with my defective Fuely pump. Just a slight wander, but I used to change engines in my "32 Hotrod using a handy billboard for a lift point. More recently I used a plank across a few...

    Well.....Bye.

34-Figured Cooter would be burning up the track this weekend. Do not know where I got the idea you were in Santa Cruz. Phoenix is not too far from Faywood--when you get your bike up, go there for a soak, rent a cabin. Had the XR1200X out yesterday for an hour or so. Blistering heat here at...

    Well.....Bye.

Endo, Now that Kitesurfing looks to be one of the most difficult of all sports so kudos to you. So you are one of those guys that magically appear when the winds whip up and the water is rough and there you are out there! A few years ago I tried with zero success to organize a buell meet...

    Well.....Bye.

Sounds good to me Endo. Maybe we can ride down to Whale City in Davenport for lunch while I am in the neighborhood. Cooter might be talked into a run up from SmellA--he likes bourbon as well. January looks open for me--just have to hope things return to Normal.

    Well.....Bye.

EndoP, I tried to sell the Uly and the EBR multiple times on this site. No takers. I traded them both in on the XR1200. Yes H-D beat me up somewhat, on the other hand they paid off the note on the EBR and did not scrutinize the two bikes very much. Plus they made it happen in two hours...

    Well.....Bye.

I hope everyone sits down with multiple friends/family today and enjoys--do not forget to all burn your masks while you are at it. NJ-- you have not heard the last of me, I will stop by. Sorry do not have the tail section, just the ECM, Belt and Windscreen. Any takers? Barrett--same...

    Well.....Bye.

Well, no well wishers for me and my XR so I guess I am history on this channel. Anyone need some free stuff--I forgot to take a few things to the trade in. 1. Stock Uly Windshield 2. Uly '09 Drive belt in good condition 3. Stock ECM for the Uly Opto

    Well.....Bye.

Re: XR1200X So I solved my saddle bag problem temporally by using my old set of throw over leather bags that have been on at least 6 bikes. I will go with the Spitfire windscreen so now I am ready for mini-cruising. The big problem is still TIRES. I would like to head in the direction of...

    FURNERS----get OUT of AmishLand!

They were probably all heading over to Intercourse, Pa. Glad you ran them off
  18. O

    Well.....Bye.

Thanks, Barrett, that is a lot of useful information. Cooter, I am not sure you would find the XR very comfy as you are a long legged guy--but you can try mine out. I will probably retain the fob thingy, but it is just one more thing to fuss over is all. Probably a good idea to change out that...
  19. O

    Well.....Bye.

34--I will keep the key switch/steering lock but hope to loose the "Fob". It is kind of a proximity switch. If you don't have it near the bike it won't start. If it(Fob) has a dead battery it won't activate either. I can make the XR1200X fobless but it will cost $400 bucks at the H-D shop...
  20. O

    Well.....Bye.

I realize I am hi-jacking this thread so this will be my last XR comments--Barrett--actually one of the areas about this XR that concerns me is the so-called security system and the "fob". The fob thing distresses me because it looks like at some point it will fail me. I understand (from H-D)...
