    Custom Buell

(call to my girlfriend..) "Hey hun, yeah I just pulled into to the garage on my bike, do you think you could come down here with a spatula so I can peal whats left of my right thigh off the motorcycle please! Oh on the plus side we may have a sort of steak for dinner."

    Tread wear bars

You shouldn't have a tire longer than 5 years regardless of the remaining tread. The rubber naturally becomes dry and will basically rot, even if you can't see any signs of dry rot. It all seams good until a massive chunk of rubber comes off at 80mph. Your tires are no less than 13 years old...

    Oil viscosity 20w50 vs 50

Yeah I know, lol sorry. I've just seen some people doing some questionable things because of jokes. Lol some people don't know. Once on a forum I read about a guy who said the ticking from his engine was loud (on a ford zetec) then someone jokingly told him to pour some sugar in his engine...

    Oil viscosity 20w50 vs 50

I'm going to go ahead and suggest that you not put canola oil in any engine unless you're running a diesel that has been converted to run on "bio-diesel" As I'm sure the previous comment was a joke. However it will be like putting a turbo on your bike... until the engine gets destroyed due to...

Bout to buy another XB, 5 Sense exam??

Obviously check for signs of being laid down (especially handle bar ends because they can tell the tale) If I was there I'd see if I could check the primary chain tension. I think that's a good indicator on him much love was given back to the bike. Also you get to check how clean or dirty the...

    removing wheels for tire change

oh yeah, when you torque with extensions on, add a few ft lbs because you loose some through the extensions (they twist a bit) probably 2 or 3 extra ft lbs

    removing wheels for tire change

Just to add a tip about removing the axles: IF you do not have the special axle nut adapter, you can use a long extension and a 3/8 SPARK PLUG SOCKET! put the hex shaped end of the socket into the axle, slide the long extension through the axle, then put the ratchet on the extension! One thing...

    Cooling fan

Just to add some info for future readers: The fans have ball bearings in them. i believe it's also called a 'stop motor' i could be wrong there. Once those bearing go bad they'll squeal like any other bearing does, don't lube the fan, that's silly, it's delaying the inevitable. Just replace...

    A Tale of Two Tires

Which tire? I noticed the have a pilot power, pilot sport, and pilot road. What's the diff? Tread patterns? Because they all get labeled with "ct2" so I know the rubber is the same on the three.

    ECMSPY system requirements

Don't buy it from eBay. Get it from http://xoptiinside.com/ it's the cheapest place to get the cable period. Also he has just 1 driver to install easily found on that site. Also ECM spy mono (the one you get from the ECM spy webpage) requires a donation to activate. If you search you can...

    A Tale of Two Tires

I have the same story basically. But I bought Michelin pilot power ct2 because of the unique dual compound rubber (hard in center, soft on sides) totally different bike handling wise. New tires are great!
