    Catch Can Question

I use the breather in lieu of the catch can and then replace it every four months or so. At $5.00 a pop, not a big deal.

    Pictures of my Buell

The Buell XB-series has always reminded me of old muscle cars - nice match on the rides.

    Boots....

I prefer the tall models, both for the added protection and the fact that they can be worn with full leathers as well as street riding gear. I've never owned the models above, but as far as I know, Alpinestar has never made a bad product (bought my first pair of Alpinestar boots in 1992, never...

    Motorcycle Safety Gear....

All DoD sites are like that - they refuse to register they're certificates so you always get the Do Not Open warning.

    Military Appreciation, The Buell Way!

We use ATVs with us on Chinook helicopters and on patrol to be used as MEDEVAC vehicles (to get the injured to the bird), to carry ammo and such and as mobile comms stations. We don't really get to play on them much. The bikes are for FOB use only (kinda hard to shoot from one, no matter how...

    Military Appreciation, The Buell Way!

I had a frankenbike for a bit in Afghanistan (dirtbike built from parts from many broken ones), but somehow it wasn't the same (and then it got blown up)

    Military Appreciation, The Buell Way!

Now we just have to figure out how to take our bikes downrange... Thanks, y'all

    Xenon Headlamps

I mounted one on my '04 XB-12R also. I mounted the ballast under the left fairing brace next to the instrument cluster (it sticks out a bit behind the brace, but it isn't really noticeable. Other folks I ride with are impressed at how bright it is (now they see more than just my bright orange...

buell is paying for our headlights

Is it possible to have Buell just ship us the part? My nearest shop is 1 1/2 hours away and they want to keep the bike for a day or two.

    Wow

I get that too sometimes (from folks who really don't know bikes) - I think it has to do with the physical size of our XBs. For some obscure reason, folks seem to think (physically) bigger bikes are better (hence the 'busa). I guess it's kind of like the GSXR-750 - folks who don't know think...

    Topped out my bike

FIDOSOL - if you do this, get yourself a GPS (your unit probably has one you can sign out) and check your top speed with that. The speedo on the bike will be off.

How do I check the temp sensor? The fuse is good...

    users & their bike...

Devlsmurf, Fidosol - come on, we all know there are only two installations in the Army - Fort Bragg and Other.

    Cooling Fan Acting Up

The cooling fan on my '04 XB12R is acting up, in that it doesn't run like it used to, hasn't started up while riding in 95 degree days, and after I shut off the bike it may or may not start, and sometimes starts a few minutes after I shut it down, at which time it sounds like it is struggling...

    Answer me this......

I did the HID conversion on my headlights (XB-12R), it required no wiring (all plug-and-play) - the only minor difficulty was finding a place for the ballast (I put mine beneath the fairing stay on the left-hand side). It is way, way better than stock.

What's the age of the typical Buell owner?

35, first bike at age 4, first streetbike (EX-500) at 19...been through most Japanese sportbikes in the last 15 years or so.

What does everyone do for a living?

Hey, no "Sirs" - I'm a CBRNE guy, but in 3d SF, so we don't do much of that.
