    HEADLIGHT HELP

The HID mod for these is easy, not too expensive and really improved the lights...http://www.xenonlink.com/product_info.php?cPath=30_42&products_id=65 is where I got mine.

    Kick Stand Censor?????????

It will shut off the bike if the sidestand is down, you have it in gear and try to release the clutch. You can still start the bike with the stand down as long as the bike is in neutral.

    Headlight Reflector

BPG- I am (finally) going to a HID headlight system for my '04 XB12R and want to replace the reflector also. Do you have the item number and price? Thanks.

Just about everything's different...which I guess is why we bought them.

Locks with/out Alarm - what type is best

If you do get a disk lock, get one with a built-in alarm. It may not do much to scare away a thief, but it will remind you when you forget to take it off before a ride!

Good Buell Shop (in Wilmington, NC)

After all of the complaints concerning various Buell shops, I found a good one. Carolina Coast H-D in Wilmington, NC is where I originally bought my bike 4 years ago, and it had to go in for warranty work recently (needed a new stator). They fixed it with no fuss, had it back to me late the...

    Kick Stand Censor?????????

I've never tried it on my Buell, but on other (Japanese) machines all you have to do is remove the switch and then hook the wires together (ok, you do have to tape them up, tuck them out of the way, etc., but it's still simple).

    Stickers

A lot of the Harley guys here on Fort Bragg buy a little chrome plate that mounts on any random bolt. It was designed for the safety sticker, but the DoD sticker fits on it just fine.

    Automotive Oil Filter Part Number...

Other folks may disagree, but I run an automotive Fram and have had no issues in my 20,000 miles. I run Redline oil and change it every 3,000 miles.

    This may be stupid but.....

With the way a modern motorcycle clutch is engineered, you do not have to use if for upshifting. If you release the throttle some (it doesn't have to be all of the way), the shift fork will "loosen" enough to allow a smooth upshift with no damage to anything.

    Bridgestone Tires

For the Buell, the best I've found, believe it or not, are the Continental ContiAttacks. I've never had them on another bike, but they work really well on the XB-12R, and the mileage is pretty good.

    Front brake problem maybe??????

I have to agree with LeFox. Bleed the system (you'll have to have some DOT 4 brake fluid on hand to do this anyway, so you'll know instantly if the wrong fluid is in your system). Motrax (available at Cycle Gear) makes an excellent one-way valve (MOTRAX Brake Bleeder #54533) that slips on the...

    usefull cleaning tips

Has anyone ever put any sort of dressing on the outside of the belt (ArmorAll or something)? It seems to pick up a lot of grime.

    compression

After you have the head milled or install domed pistons, you will want to take it to a quality shop that has a dyno and the ability to flash your ECM. Doing either of these mods is fairly expensive and not spending that last little bit of change on a dyno run and ECM adjustment would be kind of...

    Best tires

Believe it or not, the Continental ContiAttack is the best I've ran on my 04 XB-12R so far (4th set of tires). Decent mileage, excellent grip (even on Deal's Gap) and really good feedback. Who'd have guessed?

    Re-route hoses

That's pretty much what I did, and I didn't do the overflow can either. I figure if it collects enough oil to require it, I'll just go get a new filter - they're only about $5.00 or so from Autozone.
