    Fork seal help

Talk about psychokinetic! My right seal went this weekend at 24K miles. I had service done at 21K miles including draining and refilling the forks and it sure would have been nice if I'd known the seals were about to go at that time. Will have both done this week with bushings and teflon...

Sore Butt, which seat to buy?

Definitely rider height (or more precisely, leg length) is a factor. I bought my 2010 Uly XT with a lowered seat and the stock one. The lowered one was a non-starter b/c my leg inseam is about 38" to the ground and even with the stock seat I kept sliding forward until the family jewels were...

    Fork seal help

Don't you need a special tool to pound out the old seal and press the new one home? I always figured that's something I'd let the dealer do since I've been known to screw those kind of things up and have to pay twice as much to fix the damage.

    New2Me Uly XT

Sly, not saying I don't agree with your sentiment but how would that work when HD owns the basic engine? Anything less than the 1200 air cooled V-twin just wouldn't deliver the same torque, right in the power band where you most want to feel it. I think the Rotax would be an untamable beast on...

To BUELL or Not to BUELL ??

Something wrong there and I would guess you want feedback as to whether this is a continuing problem you might have to face as long as you own the bike, hence; "is is worth it?" PTL I've managed 23,000 mi. on my '09 XT with one minor issue, the front isolator failed. With the way thebike...

    Windshield modification

I installed the Madstad anodized aluminum flyscreen with their large windscreen and new angled brackets. The flyscreen was first rate but I couldn't stand hearing the windshield flapping on those brackets every time I stopped at a traffic light. Madstad took everything back and refunded all so...

New to Buell on Uly 2009. Front wires broken.

Well, the best revenge is probably to bypass HD and buy a new Buell. Oh wait, I can't afford one. I'm not saying I wouldn't like to take a dump on Mr. Wandell's front lawn but if he was brought in to be the hatchet man, blame the Board at the MoCo for making that decision. I've enjoyed my two...

    Buell Ulysses WADBR vid

So many questions pop to the surface: - Looked like two KTM Adventures and a BMW GS. How'd the Uly compare/hold up? -What kind of shoes was your Uly wearing? Any thoughts? -Did you wish for engine guards? -I would think soft side bags would be better on a trip like that, right? My HB hard bags...

    high mileage tires on uly?

My XT got 7,000 on Dunlop Sportmax Q2s. That's maybe not as impressive as some of the others quoted here but that's not compromising much on handling and adhesion either so I like the tradeoff. I typically ride 30% to 40% of my miles on the slab and the center was worn flat on the rear but the...

stock xb12 2 stage back pressure muffler does this really work?

Backpressure is your friend if you want low to mid-range torque. Low to mid-range torque is the strong suit of the 45 degree (Buell) v-twin. Drag pipes (low back pressure) are only good if you're reving up near redline. So, until Eric Buell figured out how to change from a tuned backpressure...

2 inch risers work on Uly?

Got mine from roxspeedfx.com. It was a nice piece of machined and anodized aluminum and was very easy to install.

Best Aftermarket Brake & Clutch Levers

Hey, Netty. What did you use to paint your wheels? Thanks to all who responded, it's a big help.

Best Aftermarket Brake & Clutch Levers

Any recommendations out there? There are tons of choices on ebay. What I want to improve is adjustability of the levers to suit various riding conditions. Short lever, short reach for whipping around the back roads, maybe a little longer lever and reach for highway touring.

New windscreen & adjustable bracket for Ulysses

Madstad now will only sell their windscreen with a new aluminum flyshield and the brackets. That's 'cuz the original plastic flyscreen was too flexible and the brackets were shaking the whole lashup like a birch tree in a thunderstorm. Total cost is now $306. I installed the 22" Adventure...

2 inch risers work on Uly?

I didn't have to take the clamp off but there is no play left, that's for sure. I may do that anyway. I also installed the Madstad brackets, windshield and flyscreen and should have unclamped the cable. I may return the Madstad stuff as it makes me really mad the way everything flexes and...

    Post your Uly/Madstad windshield pics

Just installed mine. Works very well at what it is supposed to do which is provide smooth, nearly buffet free ride at speed. Also seems to make the whole bike more stable in head and crosswinds. Disappointment is the amount of loud flapping and vibration at idle, especially if in 1st gear with...
