    Wooden Brake

Have to say I get more use out of the rear brake on my 2010 HD Softail but, OTOH, the Softie front brake needs a lot more help. The Uly rear brake to me seems just intended to balance the bike with the front doing maybe 90% of the work. Thankfully, that front brake is more than up to the task...

    rear shock

Rear shock looks like a progressive and the forks reportedly are triple progressive. At 215# and with Buell's recommended preload setting (6 turns, if I recall correctly), I think the ride is just perfect. Soft without pogoing. Nice thing about this bike is if you don't like the susension...

New windscreen & adjustable bracket for Ulysses

anybody try the 20" Spyder version of the Madstad screen for the Ulysses? the Adventure screen seems to work well but the Spyder looks trimmer to me and I wonder if it works as well. Gotta do something, at 80+ mph, and especially when following a truck or bus, the buffeting is really strong.

    I want a Ulysses!

Only problem with my Uly is every time I go back to my 2010 Heritage Softail, which is also a fine bike by the way, I get in more damned trouble. I keep expecting the same quick response, braking and cornering capacity and end up scraping floorboards, getting too hot in the corners, turning in...

    I want a Ulysses!

+1. Love my Uly XT. I just wish they were still making them so I could count on buying a new replacement one day.

Maybe try a part from a Sportster 1200?

    2006 XB12X Mapping problems

I think you posted this over at Buellchat.com? Seems the stutter is related to your aftermarket ECM as opposed to having to buy the ECM to cure a problem with the stock ECM and downloads?

New saddlebags on my 2010 x

What were your thoughts about the stock bags? I think they are still available. These do look nice but I really like the ability to lock/unlock my XT bags and carry them like suitcases.

new Uly owner from Cape Town, South Africa

I will say this for you South Africans, you stick together and keep this forum a lot more active than any other group. I've posted questions elsewhere weeks ago without responses. I guess interest in things Buell has waned since the plug was pulled by HD Moco. I haven't been to your home turf...

    best model year for uly

Very nice! I was looking for an XT all the way and the range was prolly $6000-$6500 for an '06-'07 and $500-$1000 more for an '08-'09 with medium lo (7,000-15,000) miles. For me, the condition and type of use/abuse subjected to in its previous life is most important but price definitely factored...

Need a good service tech in SD

Just bought a Uly XT and have been told by two people to steer clear of the HD shops. Both of those guys do their own servicing and repairs and that's fine but I'd rather pay my money and spend my free time on the bike. Anybody have some recommendations in the San Diego area? One shop told me...

    best model year for uly

Just went through this whole process and ended up with an '09 XT. Without getting into all the tech details, which I don't remember anyway, it seemed '08 was the year Buell made a lot of small but potentially significant improvements. Not sayin the right deal on an '06-07 wouldn't make sense but...
