    One of the shops I go to said that my 2003 XB9S had the primary chain loose and that it needed a new tensioner because that one was worn out and causing the chain to become loose. I just want to know if I'm not getting screwed here and that part actually does exist. Would I need a new chain...

    Yes that is what it looks like on mine too. I should have taken a picture of what it looked liked on the connecting part of the fuse. Should I change it, try to clean it, if so how? Or just take it to a motorcycle repair shop and let them do the work?

    I've recently purchased a used 03 XB9S but I have no idea what oil to use on it. I'm thinking of emptying the oil it has and replacing it with a new one. The only thing that I know is that the previous owner used synthetic oil.
