Buell fuel line clip 2006 XB9R

Anybody know what size the clip is that goes on the fuel line connector at the injector manifold? Working on the XB9R yesterday and noticed mine is missing and the previous owner had safety wired the fuel line in place (did a good job to!). I see there are assortments sold on ebay, but would...

Changing a head gasket, have a question?

2006 XB9R rear head gasket is blown (loud and obvious). Can I change the rear cylinder head gasket with the engine in the frame? It looks very doable, wondering if anyone has tried? Thanks for the advice in advance! Metz

Has anyone built a nice balanced 984cc engine?

I want to rebuild the 984 in my XB9R. It has 30K on it now and I think it might be a little tired. I really like the revvy nature of the engine and the way it makes useful power that is fun and practical on the street. So I would like to plan out a rebuild to enhance those aspects. I don't want...

    clutch basket rebuild

Does anyone know of a place that does clutch basket rebuilds? While working on my XB9R last night I noticed that there are several of the cush drive springs in my clutch basket that have collapsed? Four to be exact, 2 inside and 2 outside. I don't think this is super critical, but it does...

    Primary chain tensioner repair

I need to repair the thread on my primary cover for the primary chain tensioner bolt. I have a clear understanding of the job. What I would like to know is this, which method for the repair works best? Should I use a Helicoil kit or a thread insert set? Experience tells me the thread insert set...

Plastic body panel polish or cleaner?

The previous owner of my Sunfire Yellow 2006 Firebolt left some greasy fingerprints in various places on the plastic body panels. I can't seem to get them off with polishing wax, is there a trick or product out there that will make getting the stains off easier? Thanks...Metz

    Primary Gearing Swap

I am curious if anyone has tried putting the XB12 38 tooth primary crank pulley in an XB9? I know this works the other way around, putting the XB9 34 tooth pulley on an XB12, which will give better acceleration at the expense of top speed. I realize I will also need the longer XB12 primary chain...

    White wheel cleaning tricks???

I will give the Armor All Wheel and Tire cleaner a try. The straight Simple Green and power washer isn't cutting it. I have tried using Oil Eater, but you have to get it off quick cause it will dry back on, but it does better than the Simple Green and it isn't hurting the white finish. I still...

    tranny question xb9r

So I found a transmission fluid recipe on one of the Buell Forums that I am trying out. The mix is 3/4 quart of Amsoil Severe Gear 75w/90 synthetic gear oil mixed with 1/4 quart Lucas Automatic Transmission fluid conditioner. On Saturday I drained the primary and replaced the fluid with one...
