Disillusioned with the XB *venting-warning long*

A buddy of mine has a Monster 796. He loves it. Not sure if the streetfighter type bike is what you're looking for, but you kinda can't go wrong with a Monster. Very smooth revving and shifting bike. Maintenance interval is what it is, but the bike is silky smooth to ride and has good grunt...

    potential buell enthusiast

I'd look for an XB9 or a similar 600cc class bike as an upgrade. The Blast is a beginner's bike.

Disillusioned with the XB *venting-warning long*

If I had this much to complain about, I'd sell the bike and move on. Maybe look at a an 1125r or some other make of bike that captures your attention. Ducati makes some great V-Twin (or L-Twin as they like the call them) bikes. There a couple of V-Twin sport bikes out there that might meet...

    blue tooth helmet questions

PS: you can get add-on bluetooth units for your helmet. Here's one on Amazon: http://tinyurl.com/65j4ua7 Very few helmets have it built in, but here's one: http://tinyurl.com/5shqd4k Here's a link from a banner ad I saw on this site for Bluetooth helmet tech: http://tinyurl.com/679dchh

    blue tooth helmet questions

I have a bluetooth helmet. Bluetooth is a "personal space" wireless technology that allows bluetooth enabled devices to communicate with eachother within a roughly 50ft range. So, you can connect your helmet to your phone and listen to music, take calls, hear GPS verbal commands, etc. It also...

Zero Gravity Sport Tour windscreen (amber) request

I'm looking to get a ZG Sport Tour windscreen and I'm thinking of going with amber to complement my solid blue plastics (blue 2005 XB12s). The translucent blue just doesn't match up very well and smoke seems a little out of color scheme. If anyone has an amber screen on blue, can you share a...

    80mph + on a buell

I've done 120mph twice. Both times I didn't even realize I got up to that speed because everything was so smooth. I looked down at the speedo and was like "HOLY @#$%, how did that happen?" So no, no problems above 80mph that I'm aware of.

    Brammo Streetfighter, wow

I want it to make some Tron-like "weeeeee" noise or something that only other motorists would hear.

    Brammo Streetfighter, wow

in an ammendement in the article, the power numbers are like 59 ft/lb and 55 hp. Good on torque, top end sucks. Again, for a first gen "sportbike" it's fairly impressive. Yes, the charge time limits the touring capabilities. It's a commuter and buzz-around bike at best. It's still another...

    Brammo Streetfighter, wow

tax credits get that price (after the fact) down a bit. I'm still paying on my XB12s, but when I'm done I might be looking hard at whatever generation of EV that Brammo has if they keep the innovations flowing. 100 + 100 is real world stuff. Imagine 130mph + 150 mile range? I bet they're...

    Brammo Streetfighter, wow

Brammo Streetfighter 100mph with a 100 mile range. I'm almost at the point where I'm ready for something like this.

    1125CR Laminar Lip windscreen

I normally HATE the look of a Laminar Lip, but this one isn't so bad. Probably pretty good for longer highway rides, I bet.

should i hold out on the buell or go for it

Go for it. Like any bike, ride it carefully for a while until you really get to know it. You can begin to "push the envelope" as you grow more comfortable with feeling out your limitation as well as the bikes. That goes for any bike you ride; whether it be a Ducati, H-D, Buell, Ural, whatever.

    Buell Firebolt vs. Buell Lightning

I've hit 110 a couple of times in the past two weeks, not so much as a shimmy to speak of. In fact, it might have felt smoother at 110 than at 90 mph.

    Buell Firebolt vs. Buell Lightning

Dude, why aren't you riding home on it RIGHT NOW!!! $3600 is a heck of a deal. Cool thing with the Lightning is that if you REALLY have to have the front fairing of the 'Bolt, it's a much easier conversion than putting the face of a Lightning on a 'Bolt.

Is decel popping a bad thing? I personally love the way it sounds.

    Hockey Playoffs started....who's your team

It's a series. We'll see how game 4 goes. If Philly can minimize the big mistakes they'll be fine. They've been dominating puck possession throughout the first 3 games, they've just been too prone to BIG mistakes that have cost them goals. It's been a great series so far.

    Overheat and Shut/Turn/Cut Off concern

I had a Mercury Sable that did the same thing. Ended up being a failing ECM that would act up once it got warm and was shut down and then restarted. When it was started up "warm", the engine sputtered and ran with about half the normal power. It was near undriveable like that. If I drove...

    How-to improve bottom-end performance for XB12

I think you just need to tweak the map. ECMSpy and a cable should allow you to make some changes that'll let you smoothen out the lower portion of the operational range. What year is your XB?

    Well im another unfortunate rider
