I run Red Line 20w50 in the primary year round. I've started running RL10w40 in the engine in cooler/cold weather. It makes a significant difference when its cold. 20w50 when its warm. I live near Seattle.

common for front motor mount to melt?

    >>>i do have 1 question (or a bunch of questions) but why are the front fuel map and rear fuel map different? They are different. Don’t know why for certain. I’ve heard several explanations but don’t know that any are accurate. Maybe someone reading this post will know.

common for front motor mount to melt?

Last time I loaded ECMSpy onto a computer I had to play around with the drivers to get it to work. If you have the right driver on a CD, I may press you to load it for me onto a thumb drive if you don't mind. Next Step: Click the view tab in the upper left hand corner of ECMSpy. Under Closed...

common for front motor mount to melt?

    >>>I had been using the free version of MLV until a couple days ago, it does a fair bit but has limitations, so I bought the full version. afpreppie04 – How does the paid version compare with the free? Better numbers/corrections when you run it? >>>I wouldn't call the MTX-L waterproof...I had...

common for front motor mount to melt?

I purchased an AFR gage like that after getting the LC-1. It's only about an inch deep, difficult to mount and not waterproof. I ended up taking its bezel and case off and installed it in one of our instrument housings, (I work for a Marine Instrument Company). It looked fugly. It is helpful to...

common for front motor mount to melt?

    >>>mines an 05 and I am 1 step head of you, basically parked until i get this replaced. I might be crazy but I swear I feel alot more heat on my leg with the new pipes. I know they are not glowing red... Heat of course will melt rubber. Can’t say for certain this is the culprit but the mount...

common for front motor mount to melt?

Ray – I googled other sites and found similar threads though not many. Could not find an actual explanation as to why the mounts melted. Buell updated the front motor mount I think around 05-06. Didn’t find any posts for later bikes, 06-07 and newer. This may be a known defect in older mounts...

common for front motor mount to melt?

Ray -- It was nice and warm Saturday but bot that hot! I've never seen anything like that. Your pipes are a little purple indicating they’re running lean but unless they’re glowing “Cherry Red” I can’t imagine there’s enough head to melt the isolation rubber. You need to replace the mount but...

    HELP Carburetor !!

    >>>Does anyone have an idea please what could be wrong with my bike? More diagnostics needed. It’s a little unusual to get this much water in today’s ethanol fuel blends. To see if you do have water in the fuel system do the following. Turn the fuel valve to OFF. Remove the carburetor float...

    O2 Sensor Elimination?

I turned mine off with ECMSpy. I live near Sea level and at first it ran ok. But with it OFF there are no EGO or AFV corrections. 1500 foot elevation and weather changes affected how the bike ran. It still ran ok but not as good. After several days I turned it back on. I run a WB o2...

    Rox Risers

I put a set on my Lightning TT. Those in the picture look like them. You do not need new cables if you only install the 2" Rox Risers. You will have to play with them and reroute them, (fairly easy to do). I set my other TT up for long distance riding. It has a set of Rox Risers plus a 1" set...
