    2007 XB12STT Front Wheel Vs 2007 XB12R Firebolt Wheel

Planning on replacing one of my Front Wheel Rotors with a Galfer Wave Rotor. Galfer sells a disc for the XB12R and XB12X but none for an XB12S. I believe the XB12S and XB12R rotors are the same but would like confirmation from someone who knows for sure before purchasing. Thanks

    Tachometer Issue

Tach needle erratically fluctuates 1000-1500 or so RPM. Fluctuation is intermittent, not steady. -How do I go about troubleshooting the issue? -Can this be repaired in the home shop or do I have to send it off to a speedometer shop? -Recommendations Please.

    Injectors

That's only 3000 Miles. I would definitely try fresh gas and injector cleaner first. Suggest TechRon. Its reasonably priced and works well at keeping injectors clean. Try doubling or tripling the amount of cleaner.

    Injectors

If the injectors are gummed up from gas going bad while sitting then new gas and injector cleaner may work. If they are carboned-up and fouled the only way to clean is with an ultrasonic cleaner. I had my cleaned at their Kirkland WA shop, http://www.docinjector.com/index.html In addition to...

If you rotate the engine consider upgrading the Throttle Body Seals with Genuine James Blue.

    Damaged ECM?

Is that what the little black diode in the XB's fuse box is for?

    Code 13 Always lean

I've used the old ECMSpy & MLV to tune with good results. With the old ECMSpy you're able to get a 3D view of the fuel and timing maps. Comparing the maps makes it pretty easy to see where there are substantial differences. If you know the approximate throttle position and RPM where the issues...

Do you have the Old version of ECMSpy, (for 03-07 Buells)?

This allen wrench, Yost Performance Intake Manifold Wrench WRNB, $13 on Amazon. A thin film of Superlube on the seals and a Table Lift did the trick.

I only have experience with the Blue James seals. IMO they are a great product. Have no experience with the Black G.J. seals so I can't comment. They resemble the HD seals. I own two 07-XB12STT's. The stock HD seals started leaking around 10K miles on both bikes. They IMO are junk. Unless...

Replace the Throttle Body seals with Genuine James seals, don't use the HD seals. You can purchase GJ seals from St. Paul HD/Buell. I tuned my 07TT with the old ECMSpy and Megalog Viewer. Things worked out pretty well. Are you using the old ECMSpy on your 06?

    >Old Tune no running issues. >Install New Tune and there are running issues. >Reinstall Old Tune and running issues go away. You probably don't have a fuel pump issue. Is your new tune making EEPROM changes? Is it making only fuel map changes or both fuel and timing map changes?

    o2 Sensor Comments

Had a bunch of work to do on all three bikes this winter, (2-Buells and 1-DR650). Decided to upgrade the unheated single wire NBo2 to a 4-wire heated model. Manufacturer's literature indicates that unheated single wire sensors last about 20K. Heated sensors go for 100-120+K miles before getting...

    Engine oil

When I purchased my first Buell the Dealer, (sales, parts and mechanics all said use 20W50 year round). I used one of the Buell's as my year round daily commuter into Seattle for several years. The climate here is fairly mild with temperatures usually above 0 Degrees C. One year we had a cold...

preparing for rear rocker gasket leak

I don't know what is in the James RB kit. If you already have the kit go through it and see whats there. If the James kit has paper gasket cover bolt seals it IMO would be worth purchasing the HD updated bolt seals from SPHD.

preparing for rear rocker gasket leak

Just completed RB seal replacements on both of my Buell's. The HD rocker box seals are up to Revision-C and are good quality, (unlike what came on the bike). With the engine rotated replacing the Throttle Body seals is IMO a must do and as LF said, also replace the PCV valve doughnut seals. You...
