Right leg heat with a twist

My small RSS hasn't arrived yet (supposed to be late this week/early next week) but I gave my exhaust a once over and the rear slip joint near my right thigh was leaking a little bit (it wasn't seated straight), blowing hot air right on me. I took the springs off and got everything straightened...

    Ecm droid not connecting

Mine is doing this too. I haven't used it in a while, been using USB to a laptop, but decided to log with it the other day. It used to work fine; I bought it from Xopti a while back.

Right leg heat with a twist

To answer my own question, yes the 2010 scoop is still available from dealers, though the price has gone up since the 2009 posting where I found the part number. No longer is it $16.00, after tax today it cost $27.81. As soon as it arrives I will update whether it fits (it really looks like it...

Right leg heat with a twist

I think that might be the ticket. Looking at this picture I have from when I first put the headers on (never mind the filth) it looks like the 2010 scoop might fit. I found the part number by googling but very few results; most people just go straight to the comfort kit RSS. Any idea if...

Right leg heat with a twist

I think you might be right Cooter. The closest thing I can find is this but it is specifically for Ulysses, I doubt it would fit my Scg. Strange though, I have seen arguments about specifically keeping that hole open for rear cylinder venting, but then Buell made a blockoff cover for it? I...

Right leg heat with a twist

Shield yes, wrap no. I could have swore I saw something long ago that fit in the little triangle hole in front of the rear master cylinder. It was a little mini scoop or something along those lines. I cannot find it now though.

Right leg heat with a twist

My OEM headers were wrapped by the PO. When I took it off the wrap texture was burnt onto the pipe. Shortly thereafter the O2 bung blew out. The wrap may or may not have had anything to do with the metal fatiguing, but I'd rather not risk it and have to potentially get back in Dean's line...

Right leg heat with a twist

I do need to finish adjusting my idle, it is running rich on both cylinders; I've been more focused on riding RPMs. That heat shield is an idea, but I'm not sure how it would fit on since I don't have factory headers. I guess I'll just get the tune more dialed in and hopefully that will...

Right leg heat with a twist

I know there are a million right leg heat threads on here with the RSS being the best option. I even had a RSS in the past and it worked great. However, my current headers are not RSS compatible so I sold the one I had and went back to my stock scoopless plate on the right side. Has anyone...

Finally a Buell owner!! And it was one from this board from years ago!

Good looking bike! I'm jealous of your carbon fiber. To get the photos working correctly just click the "direct" link over on the right of the photobucket page, then click the image button above the text box here and paste it in. Like this:

    Lightning basic info?

    1. I'm pretty sure the SL and the SCG are the same heightwise, just different engines and years. 2. EBR has an upgrade rotor, as well as a couple others, 5-0 dro sells the Galfer rotors and is a sponsor here. 3. I have the ebay knockoff levers and they work fine, although the black has...

    New guy, new to buell.

When you have the chin fairing off take a picture of the exhaust and we can help identify it. The clutch kit is a replacement ramp that eases the clutch pull effort. The oil filter/oil is just from an oil change, but those are good choices. The K&N is the most common replacement air filter...

    Ceramic Coat or Polish??

Mine are coated black as well on a black bike. Polishing is a lot of work, I'm doing that on my car's wheels right now.

common for front motor mount to melt?

I am also using MTX-L widebands on my Buell. My car has an LC1. I went with the MTX-L mainly because they are weatherproof so I can leave them, since getting to my sensors is a pain. I had been using the free version of MLV until a couple days ago, it does a fair bit but has limitations, so I...

    MLV question

I'm still in wideband only right now, haven't gone back to narrowband yet. The weird thing is it runs perfect when hot, it is only if I turn it off then start it again while it is still hot. Intake gaskets are new, along with all other gaskets from the base up.

    MLV question

That's what I did for the first few logs, but I know my neighbors didn't appreciate the bike idling there for so long. So the next ones I logged the whole time, but adjusted the start time on VE Analyzer to start after the temp was above 160*C. I wonder if there is some setting in ECMSpy I...
