    MLV question

I've been mapping the front cylinder mainly the past few days and it has been coming along quite well. The only issue I have seen is that it will run fine, I'll go ride it for a while and log it with no problems. But if I go to ride it again shortly after parking it, it will be very lean...

    MLV question

Thanks for the heads up on the AFR map, I was just following the guide here: Guide and making changes to use my widebands. I switched to AFRBin2 and analyzed and burned the rear cylinder. I test rode it while logging the front cylinder today and it is decent. Still a little fat in the...

    MLV question

I am datalogging my dual wideband setup right now on my 12. I did a couple logs and adjustments in narrowband emulation to get it running and make sure everything was working, and I did my first wideband log this afternoon. AFV locked at 100 and O2 corrections off, just passing the wideband...

XB Rear Axle Threads. Right or left?

Not that it matters in this case, but the clutch hub retaining nut is also reverse thread.

    LETS BUILD A FREAKIN' XB9!

Love seeing build threads, keep it coming! I have clip-ons on my Lightning and don't find them hard on my wrists at all, have done several longish trips with them (1800 miles over 2.5 days of riding) without a single problem.

    vacuum tube?

Mine is capped. When I did my base gaskets I searched into what it was too. It is for California emissions. I had replaced it previously because the caps kept cracking due to the heat. I got a silicon cap for it last time and it hasn't cracked yet.

    Aggresive handlebar pic request

Haha no rubbing intended! :D I just found it weird that my clip-ons are more comfy than my stock handlebars that had a raise were on my last bike.

    Aggresive handlebar pic request

I don't necessarily agree with this. I have taken my XB on long trips (longest stretch was about 14 hours, San Antonio back home to Rio Rancho avoiding all interstates) and have clip-ons with not a single comfort issue. I almost had an issue running out of gas in the middle of nowhere, but...

Looking to Buy a Buell XB12 SCG

I came to my XB from a Yamaha FZ6. My biggest complaint about that bike was that it was so tall. I wasn't worried about seat height, I could flat foot my FZ6 no problem (I'm 5'10") but it always looked awkward to me and bugged me. I had been curious about XBs for years, and had been keeping...

Looking to Buy a Buell XB12 SCG

Something to keep in mind with the cg is that it WILL bottom out the muffler on large speedbumps. There is one bump in particular in a shopping area near me that will do it every time. If I have to go there I hop up on the sidewalk and ride around it.

Looking to Buy a Buell XB12 SCG

I'm not sure how common my issues have been, but I can tell you what I have repaired on my 2005 Scg. Keep in mind it has around 21k by now. -Replaced voltage regulator and stator -Repaired fuel pump wiring inside frame -Replaced crankcase vent -Replaced headers -Replaced and helicoiled broken...

    Best steering dampener?

not the best picture but the only one I could find on my phone. I can snap a current one when I get home but the gauges are in the same location.

    Best steering dampener?

No I have clip ons, but I have my wideband gauges are mounted to the handlebar mounts. I could maaaybe squeeze something between the gauges and the cluster but it would be really tight and need custom brackets.

    Best steering dampener?

Aww, it won't fit on my setup. [sad] Does look very nice though, the ones that mount on the fork tube and frame look very odd, I think it would bug me.

    Best steering dampener?

How do the GPR stabilizers mount to the Lightning since there is a bar clamp up there? Off topic, but I have an Energy One clutch in my XB and have had zero problems. I got it before you became a dealer though 5-0. :(

    carbon fiber windscreen

Looks pretty good. You'll have to flip it before you upload it I'd think. Are you going to leave it bare? Save a little more weight.

Replacing gaskets - engine torn down - some questions

I just went through all that last year, and was able to get Hylomar through CarQuest at work. I'm not sure if they normally stock it on the shelf, but they can get it. Also my Harbor Freight cheapy ring compressor worked fine, I put the pistons in the cylinders off the bike, then put it on the...

    Head light dimensions

Yeah that was my one worry too. I was going to get some of the normal mini ones but was worried about the depth, I really didn't want them sticking out the back of the housings. I will check out the light pattern and output before I cut anything up. I figure even if it isn't that great it...

    Head light dimensions

I got one of TRS' last sets of matchbox projectors when they made them specifically for this purpose. I plan to convert to HID this winter as well.

    Throttle assist

I also have the contoured one, called a Cramp Buster. It helps loads on long trips. It is a bit awkward around town though, I take it off once the trip is over.
